- There are two different versions of the opening episode: The first starts with no background music through about the first 10 minutes (The softball game, the Cobra attack on the base, the arrival of Sgt. Slaughter); the music doesn't start until the Joes are shown doing their running exercises. All other versions (including the Rhino DVD version) include background music starting at the opening titles.
- Leading up to the release of "Arise, Serpentor, Arise!" was a short one and a half minute commercial advertising Serpentor's creation, with a completely different story-line from that seen in the film. In the short clip, Serpentor is shown being created by Destro and Dr. Mindbender, completely by themselves and in secret, without any of the action or drama of the Joe team trying to stop them. The tombs they raid are also different; depicted are a coffin being dug up in a graveyard and a mummy being stolen from its sarcophagus. Serpentor's creation machine also looks different and Sertpentor himself wears an orange snake outfit instead of green and gold as in the TV series.
