DuckTales has been cancelled after three seasons. It’s a major gut punch to any fan of the astounding reboot of the classic 80’s series. Even three seasons in it felt like the show was only beginning to rev up. It was slowly building a new version of the Disney Afternoon universe, more and more characters were being added to the cast, and the characters we loved so much were getting fleshed out in fascinating ways.
Thankfully there’s a small silver lining. The show isn’t quite over yet. There are still a few episodes left to air and hopefully they’ll provide some closure to DuckTales’ many long running story arcs.
But how many episodes are there and when will they air? Well the statement from Disney about DuckTales’ cancellation does hold some clues.

Darkwing Duck may be making a comeback. A reboot of the 1990s’animated action-adventure comedy series is in the works at Disney+. The reboot is in early development at Disney Television Animation, which falls under the newly formed Disney Branding Television unit headed by Gary Marsh, Deadline has confirmed.
A writer is not yet attached. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will executive produce the project via Point Grey Pictures.
Created by Tad Stones, DarkWing Duck ran from 1991-1992 on The Disney Afternoon syndicated programming block and on Saturday mornings on ABC. It followed the adventures of Darkwing Duck, who is the superheroic alter-ego of ordinary suburban duck Drake Mallard. Aided by his sidekick and pilot Launchpad McQuack, DarkWing lives in an unassuming suburban house with his adopted daughter Gosalyn, next door to the bafflingly dim-witted Muddlefoot family. Darkwing struggles to balance his egotistical craving for fame and attention against his...

Above: Tsai Ming-liang. Photo by Chang Jhong-Yuan.One of the strongest qualities of this year’s Berlin International Film Festival is just how many small scale movies have been granted a much-deserved premiere on the biggest of screens and reddest of carpets here, in the main competition. The most personal of all these, as well as the most touching, is Days, the new film by the Taiwanese director Tsai Ming-Liang. Stripped down even further than 2015’s stoic Stray Dogs, it iterates on both Afternoon (2015), a documentary made of a conversation between a loquacious Tsai and the taciturn star of his movies, Lee Kang-sheng, and Your Face (2018), a feature-length gallery work made up only of intensely observed close-ups, many of elderly Taiwanese. Days takes the lessons of documentary impulse, evocative spareness, extreme patience, and extended duration from those films, as well as their focus on the aging, to create a new...

Nearly 45 years after Al Pacino and Carol Kane appeared in Sidney Lumet’s classic film “Dog Day Afternoon,” an Amazon Prime Video series about Nazi-hunters in 1977 New York City has brought them back together. Go figure.
“I’m proud to be working with him again,” Kane told Variety at the “Hunters” premiere on Wednesday night in Los Angeles. “We also did some theater back in the day. I find that he’s grown in so many ways, and we’ve both changed, of course, because we’re considerably older.”
Older? Maybe. More iconic? Certainly. As Pacino hit the green carpet outside the DGA Theater, the cast, crew and the reporters immediately paid him reverence. With “Hunters,” Pacino takes on his first series regular role, starring as Meyer Offerman, who heads a diverse group fighting against high-ranking Nazi officials attempting to set up a Fourth Reich in the United States. Logan Lerman...
