Kevin Costner is suing his fellow Dances with Wolves and The Bodyguard producer in a dispute over a company the Oscar winner set up nearly three decades ago and was looking to end.
The flap over Good Ones Productions, which Costner launched in 1992, involves his longtime business partner, Jim Wilson, and his failure to give up his rights to the company that Costner was looking to wind down last year. In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court (read it here), the actor claims Wilson refused to sign away his stake in Good Ones.
The pair met in 1983, when Costner landed his first lead role in a movie, the Wilson-directed Stacey’s Knights. Per the suit, Costner says “he never forgot the opportunity Wilson provided for him.” When Costner was up for his first directing job after becoming a star with such films as Silverado and Bull Durham,...

The Price Is Right had an extra exciting episode on Thursday, when one lucky contestant shattered the Plinko record -- though we're pretty sure he would've been thrilled to just have been on the show.
Contestant Ryan could not contain his excitement when host Drew Carey invited him up onstage, as he ran through the aisles cheering and high-fiving the crowd.
Watch: ‘The Price Is Right’ Celebrates Historic Three-Way $1 Tie: Watch the Epic Moment!
Ryan then went crazy when he found out he'd be playing the Plinko game, in which contestants drop a chip down a gigantic pinball board to land on a winning sum. "Oh my God!" he yelled when he dropped his first chip on the top amount, $10,000, before landing on $1,000, $10,000, $500, and another $10,000 on his last attempt -- which is when he really lost it.
"Ryan! Ryan!" the crowd cheered as he ran around the stage in shock, hugging the model...

Once a blockbuster staple, the power ballad was the ultimate movie accompaniment. We look back at some of the classics...
For a glorious period from the mid-80s throughout the 90s, the biggest summer blockbusters were only worth their salt if they had an equally gargantuan song at the head their soundtrack. Often the success of one was inexorably linked to the other, with the likes of Four Weddings And A Funeral's feats matched and even exceeded by Wet Wet Wet's accompanying Love Is All Around.
The greatest and most successful songs belong to the power ballad genre, and are as emotionally charged and forceful as the gods of epic balladry such as Journey, Whitesnake, Bon Jovi and Meat Loaf. As the 90s became the 00s and the charts became increasingly irrelevant, the movie ballad became almost defunct, with even the song-dominant film soundtrack being...

Michael Blake, who wrote the novel Dances With Wolves and penned its subsequent film treatment, has died at 69, Variety reports.Blake spent his childhood in Texas and Southern California, where he became enamored with the story of the southwest. He studied journalism briefly before switching to film at the University of New Mexico. He then pursued a career in screenwriting. Only one of Blake’s screenplays made it to the big screen in the 1980s, but that film, Stacy’s Knights, starred Kevin Costner, who proved instrumental to Blake’s career. Costner convinced Blake to write the novel Dances With Wolves, which subsequently sold 3.5 million copies and was translated into 15 languages. Costner, of course, directed and starred in the 1990 cinematic adaptation for which Blake won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. The novel and film depict a Union Army Lieutenant in the Civil War-era west who meets a group of...

Film strikes a rare and welcome balance between screwball comedy and touching emotion
Noah Baumbach and Greta Gerwig have been a match made in indie-film heaven since “Greenberg” in 2010, and the Sundance Film Festival premiere of “Mistress America” this weekend showed the two fully in sync once more.
By turns wacky, amusing and touching, the new film isn’t as focused as “Frances Ha,” the last film directed by Baumbach, starring Gerwig and co-written by both. It's almost too good to be true: a bunch of major movie stars (among them Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, Jeremy Renner, Louie C.K. and others...), dressed up in insane '70s clothing, in a movie that often feels like a period version of "Ocean's Eleven."
But yet, here we are, reviewing "American Hustle," the new film from "Silver Linings Playbook" director David O. Russell. Based in part on an actual FBI sting operation, it features cops and criminals and the grey area in between, with an emphasis on memorable characters and identifiable situations as opposed to, well, a bunch of criminal underworld type stuff that no one would really care about.
Of course, given the glut of incredible movies mobbing the multiplexes this Christmas, is "American Hustle" worth your hard-earned dough? Should you hustle to see this movie? These are the groovy questions at hand, and...
