Not much. At all. Although we were able to shoot the film on Kodak 35mm film stock and on Panavision cameras, we were restricted to very tight budgets in all departments, which actually, like often, was the cause of us having to make do, and do virtually ALL the so-called SFX (special effects) "in-camera" ourselves. This is the way one learns and gains experience...living down here at the bottom end of the world, this happens a lot; that's why the South African, Australian and New Zealand film industries are so advanced and accomplished...hence, The Matrix etc., the Peter Jacksons, etc. Anyhow, the "Bullet Time" SFX sequence was all filmed in-camera and not done in post production at all as described elsewhere in an article on this site by me...also, the opening title sequence was all shot in-camera in studio over two days would you believe, in a very cost effective (read 'cheap' ) manner with limited /no budget. We had to come up with something acceptable and I believe we did so. - tai krige sasc
