It was almost midnight on Emmy Awards Sunday. The crowd at the Netflix after-party in Hollywood was thinning fast. Those who were left on that September evening were called to action by the DJ with a “last dance” alert — a Netflix tradition that brought all of the streamers’ remaining staffers to the dance floor for a few final tunes.
As Salt-n-Pepa urged them to “push it,” Bela Bajaria, 53, cut quite a figure, moving around the space in a brightly colored flowing skirt and an off-the-shoulder sheer black blouse.
Bajaria, the chief content officer for the streaming platform that has set the standard for what TV has become in the 21st century, danced in a group that included Netflix programming executives Peter Friedlander and Jinny Howe and communications chief Emily Feingold. Most top executives steer clear of the dance floor at company parties, but Bajaria was the picture of happiness as she danced with easy fluidity.

Rivals begins with a climax. Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell) is bonking in the toilet of a Concorde that goes supersonic just as he orgasms. A champagne bottle pops and all the passengers cheer as they eat prawn cocktails and chain-smoke to the sound of Robert Palmer’s ‘Addicted To Love’. In case it wasn’t yet clear, it’s the 1980s, and everyone’s horny as hell. But in this adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s novel, there’s tension of another kind too, courtesy of that titular feud: a silly yet dangerous rivalry between two posturing men with too much money at their disposal.
Cooper’s hugely successful Rutshire Chronicles were addictive and scandalous in equal measure for multiple generations of women and queer men, who found a riveting escape in her stories of romance and betrayal. Thankfully, none of that absurdity has been lost in translation,...

At 90s Con in Daytona Beach, Heather Locklear dug into her ’80s TV past with some revealing takes on what it was like to work on T.J. Best Limited Series, Best Movie/Limited Writing, Best Movie/Limited Actor: Richard Gadd, “Baby Reindeer”
Nobody made a bigger splash at this year’s ceremony than Gadd, who took home three awards for his semi-autobiographical Netflix limited series. “This is the stuff of dreams,” he uttered as he accepted his first award, and the memorable quotes kept coming. He revealed that 10 years ago he was “down and out” and never thought he’d get his life together. He encouraged everyone going through a difficult time,...

Exclusive: McG (Way of the Warrior Kid) is in final negotiations to direct Shout It Out Loud, a biopic about Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and their superstar rock band Kiss, which will be produced by STX Entertainment, sources tell Deadline.
STX declined to comment, but we hear the studio is in discussions with Lionsgate to distribute the film worldwide and co-finance. The project previously had been set up at Netflix, following a bidding war, with Joachim Rønning attached to direct, as we first reported in 2021.
No word on the framing the film will take in looking at Kiss’s decades-long musical journey. Financed by Polygram Entertainment, the most recent draft of the script is written by Darren Lemke. The project is based on a prior script by Ole Sanders, who was involved with Rønning’s incarnation. William Herron was the first writer on the project.

For super-producer Aaron Spelling, the man behind such preposterously entertaining television series as "Charlie's Angels," "The Love Boat," and "Dynasty," the best case scenario for the high school drama "Beverly Hills 90210" was that it would be a Thursday night counterprogramming hit. It certainly wasn't going to win its 9 Pm time slot. Though NBC was experimenting with its 9:30 spot (it eventually found a fairly decent fit in "Seinfeld"), "Cheers," the top-rated show on television, had the front end of the slot on lockdown. But, hey, perhaps Spelling and the show's young creator, Darren Star, could siphon off enough young viewers to convince Fox to give it a second season, preferably on a different night.

The Multiverse Saga of the MCU had locked in Jonathan Majors as its antagonist, having the actor appear in multiple films and TV shows in preparation for Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. However, following his conviction for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, the actor was promptly fired from Disney, with the Kang Dynasty switching its title to Doomsday.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) is one of the best MCU entries in the post-Endgame era. The movie got great reviews across the board, making Simu Liu's hero among the most exciting new Avengers. However, Marvel Studios is yet to officially announce Shang-Chi 2; what's going on with that?
Well, the Marvel Studios team have had Shang-Chi in the forefront of their minds. In fact, Inverse recently reported that the next Avengers movie was originally set to have Shang-Chi in the spotlight. But with Avengers 5 moving away from The Kang Dynasty and instead becoming Doomsday, it also means that Shang-Chi's involvement may have been re-worked.
And this brings us onto the proposed Shang-Chi 2. The sequel wasn't mentioned at all in Marvel Studio's 2025 slate, or beyond. Naturally, this has led to cancellation rumors; perhaps Marvel will silently move on from the character. Thankfully, those rumors appear to be inaccurate.

We haven't seen or heard from Simu Liu's Shang-Chi since he made his MCU debut in his own solo movie, Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, back in 2021, but we have repeatedly been assured that Marvel Studios does have big plans for the character.
There's been no official word on a sequel since it was announced shorty after the first movie's release, but Liu remains confident that it is "definitely" going to happen.
“A lot of it is above my pay grade, but it’s definitely happening,” the actor recently told The Press Trust of India. “[I’m] just very excited to kind of work on it and it’s going to be amazing. I really can’t say anything beyond that.”

Throwback To Star Trek: 3 Actors Who Almost Took On Riker’s Role In Star Trek Before Jonathan Frakes
3 different actors had the chance to portray Riker in Star Trek(Photo Credit –Instagram)
Let’s go back in time and investigate the possible outcomes inside the Star Trek world. Who knows, perhaps the series might have gone entirely in a different path if another actor had played Riker!
1. Michael O’Gorman: The Almost-Riker Who Quit Acting
Think of a Star Trek where Michael O’Gorman, not Jonathan Frakes, served as Riker’s face. It’s an idea worth considering. O’Gorman has a limited background in acting, having played quirky characters in a number of forgotten syndicated series, including Monsters and Miami Vice. Despite his short list of credits, O’Gorman was a serious contender for Riker.
In a memo dated April 13, 1987, from John Ferraro, Senior Vice President for Paramount Pictures, O’Gorman’s name appeared alongside other top contenders such as Gregg Marx and Ben Murphy. Ferraro’s memo...

When Marvel Studios introduced Kang (a.k.a. He Who Remains) in Loki, it felt like the MCU was about to get an even greater big bad than Thanos.
However, the studio made a major misstep by adding his most well-known Variant, Kang the Conqueror, to Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. In the movie, the Kang we expected to be the Multiverse Saga's endgame was soundly beaten by the title heroes. Then, to make matters worse, rising star Jonathan Majors was dropped from the role after a well-publicised domestic abuse trial.
Marvel Studios has since decided to move on from Kang and will instead focus on Doctor Doom in the next Avengers movies.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can call plenty of Hollywood A-listers friends. But they’ve left a royal expert “underwhelmed” by not being seen with many big names often. The reason, they suggested, could be because of the type of life the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want to lead in California.
Harry and Meghan aren’t often seen ‘mingling’ with Hollywood’s ‘A-list’
Royal expert and author Katie Nicholl discussed Harry and Meghan’s circle of friends on Vanity Fair’s “Dynasty” podcast in an episode titled “The Royal Family’s Most Challenging Year.”
“Personally, I have to say I’ve been a little underwhelmed with the celebrities they’ve been hanging out with,” she said. “Don’t get me wrong—I love Kevin Costner—he’s fabulous.” (Harry and Meghan went to a 2023 fundraiser Costner hosted.)
“But I thought they’d be mingling far more with the A-List.

Prince William had a relatively normal college experience—dorms, dining halls, lectures—considering he’s a future king. What made it possible, at least in part, was something not so typical for the average college student: NDAs or non-disclosure agreements. The now-Prince of Wales’ friends, according to a royal author and expert, signed legal documents to “enable” William’s “ordinary existence” as a college student.
William went to the University of St. Andrew’s from 2001-2005

Holly Sutton is returning to Port Charles in early September when actress Emma Samms reprises the fan-favorite character in the latest season of “General Hospital.”
Samms first joined the ABC soap opera in 1972. The character of Holly would go on to have a one night stand with Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) after being seen skinny dipping in the woods while he was mourning the loss of Laura (Genie Francis).
Holly would later find out that Luke was presumed dead and that she was pregnant. She would go on to fall in love with and marry Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), but it turned out Luke was actually alive. When last seen in 2023, Holly returned to Australia after her attempt to rekindle a romance with Robert failed.
Samms’ other notable roles include Fallon Carrington Colby in “Dynasty” and “The Colbys” and Lea McKenzie in “Goliath Awaits.”

Elizabeth Gillies is best known for her roles in the popular TV shows “Victorious” and “Dynasty.” Now, she’s making the jump to movies with her new film “Spread” which comes out this Friday on Tubi. Not only does Elizabeth star in it, but she also helped produce it—which was a first for her.
I had the chance to chat with Elizabeth about “Spread” and how this project was different than anything she’s done before. She told me she was totally burned out after wrapping up “Dynasty” so when she read the funny script for “Spread,” she was super interested right away. The story follows Ruby, an uptight journalist who ends up working at an adult magazine. Ruby goes through some big changes over the course of the movie—and so does her style of dressing!

For the better part of the last 15 years, Elizabeth Gillies has made a career out of playing sassy, snarky, strong-willed women on television. After rising to fame in her mid-teens as the mercurial Jade West on the hit Nickelodeon sitcom “Victorious,” Gillies made the transition to playing similarly rebellious adult characters, co-starring as Denis Leary’s daughter in his FX musical comedy “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll” and reimagining the role of Fallon Carrington in the CW’s modern-day reboot of “Dynasty.”
It was during the fifth and final season of “Dynasty” that Gillies was approached to star in and executive produce “Spread,” which premieres on July 19 on Tubi. Directed by Ellie Kanner and written by Buffy Charlet, the new film follows Ruby (Gillies), an aspiring (and very broke) journalist who is forced to swallow her pride and take a temp job at Spread, an outdated adult magazine.

Among all the upcoming Marvel projects, one that has captured everyone’s attention and anticipation is Avengers 5. However, the film, initially known as The Kang Dynasty, has faced significant challenges. Recent updates have taken a troubling turn, as they suggest Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness screenwriter, Michael Waldron who was set to write the script, has departed from the project.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is now unofficially titled Avengers 5. Credit: Marvel Studios
With no director, no official title, and now no writer, concerns among fans are mounting. The current state of development is far from reassuring for the future of the movie.
Michael Waldron Is Reportedly No Longer Attached to Avengers 5!
Marvel’s knack for swapping directors and writers might seem like their signature style at this point, but the aftermath can be seen in some strange edits and questionable dialogue choices in the films.

Plot: Years after the harrowing events of X, Maxine Minx (Mia Goth) is working as an adult film star in Los Angeles. Just as she lands a breakthrough part in a horror flick, a demented killer starts murdering the people in her life, and now, to save her life and career, she’ll have to face her past.

The premise of Sherwood Schwartz's '60s sitcom "Gilligan's Island" is laid out clearly in its theme song. Five passengers set sail on the S.S. Minnow with its captain and first mate, hoping to enjoy a three-hour tour of Hawaii. The ship hit rough weather, however, was dragged many miles off course, and washed up on the shores of an uncharted tropical island. The seven characters had to use their wits to survive, along with the contents of the inexplicably massive suitcases they all brought along. "Gilligan's Island" took place in a broad, slapstick universe, so any concerns of actual survival weren't addressed in any kind of meaningful way; Gilligan (Bob Denver) seemed to gain sustenance from energy-producing pratfalls.

"A Time For Killing" (also called "The Long Ride Home") isn't one of the best Westerns of all time, nor is it the most memorable, but the 1967 film still comes up in conversation thanks to its unique status as the very first movie role Harrison Ford was ever credited in. Corman started making "A Time For Killing" after already churning out cult classics like "A Bucket of Blood" and "The Little Shop of Horrors," but the low-budget filmmaker was replaced by "99 River Street...
