This was initially envisioned as a theatrical film with then-real life couple Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw in the leads. After the duo ended their relationship, it became a TV movie instead.
"Liverpool" played by Graham Fletcher-Cook, should have been called "London" as that is the accent he has rather than the very distinctive Liverpool/'Scouse' accent he should have had if that was where he was really from.
