A hidden danger threatens Captain Spike Ryerson and his men as they battle a fire in a bowling alley. In an episode entitled ''Strike, Spare and Burn," the men respond to an alarm at an old theatre building which has been converted into a bowling alley. Unknown at first to the firemen, the building contains an extraordinarily dangerous part of its past - a film vault loaded with old nitrate-type film that will explode when the temperature reaches 120 degrees. The building once was a film exchange, and still contains films made of extremely flammable nitrate.
