- Linus Van Pelt: It's up to you, Charlie Brown.
- Charlie Brown: Why me?
- All kids: Because HE'S YOUR DOG, CHARLIE BROWN!
- Lucy van Pelt: [reading from a storybook] And the little pig refused to open the door. And then the wolf became very angry. And he huffed, and he puffed, and he blew the house in. That's ridiculous. No animal could huff and puff *that* hard.
- Snoopy: [blowing Lucy into Patty's pool] Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof!
- Lucy van Pelt: That dog is gonna drive us crazy!
- Patty: [Snoopy's flying WWI flying ace and hiding watching the girls] After the show, we'll stop and get a hot-fudge sundae, okay?
- Violet: Okay, fine.
- Snoopy: [jumps out behind them] Bang! Bang!
- Lucy van Pelt: If that stupid dog doesn't come home pretty soon... I'm gonna start missing him.
- All kids: SNOOPY COME HOME!
- Patricia "Peppermint Patty" Reichardt: [about Snoopy, who's freeloading at her house in his flying ace gear] You almost get the idea that he thinks he's a soldier on leave in Paris.
- Patricia "Peppermint Patty" Reichardt: [entering a kitchen where the sink and counter are full of dirty dishes] He's only been here a week, and I'm beginning to see why nobody's missed him.
- Charlie Brown: [the phone rings, he picks up, pausing as he listens] Hello? Snoopy? No, he isn't here. He's at the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm. What? This *is* the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm? Snoopy never showed up? But he left a week ago! I don't understand! He left and was supposed to stop at a friend's house for the night. Well, thank you for calling.
- [Hangs up]
- Charlie Brown: Good grief!
- [Charlie Brown puts a leash on Snoopy]
- Patricia "Peppermint Patty" Reichardt: Do you think you have to do it this way?
- Charlie Brown: I'm afraid I have to. Thanks for all you did for Snoopy. I know he appreciates it, even if he doesn't say so.
- [Snoopy just walks angrily and puts his forepaws up as if he's been captured]
- Charlie Brown: I wish you wouldn't do that. It's very embarrassing.
- [Snoopy takes a rock, pretends it's a hand grenade, takes out the "pin" and aims it into Linus's red wagon. The "grenade" hits the wagon and Linus faints and Snoopy runs away]
- Charlie Brown: What happened?
- Linus Van Pelt: I think I was attacked by an escape... an escaping prisoner.
- Charlie Brown: Snoopy refuses to come home. As soon as he saw the leash, he flipped.
- Lucy van Pelt: You blockhead! You shouldn't have showed him the leash. You should have decoyed him with a bone, and then jumped him and hogtied him! Then dragged the ingrate home to those who appreciate him!
