According to Jacques Deray in his biography, he had a relationship with Claudine Auger during the shooting of the movie, which was very difficult for every one of the crew.
Jacques Deray says in his biography that the shooting was a total mess, with scripts losing pages, actors and technical crew not receiving payroll, provoking erratic strikes, and till the female producer Suzy Prim who arrived on the set with bank notes in her bra, because of the customs, to permit the shooting to proceed.
The shooting of this project started with Robert Siodmak as director and with the title "La Scarabee D'Or"
