Ardmore studios had gone into administration in November 1963, and despite the fact that they were still looking for a new owner, it was opened to accommodate this production.
Filming in Dublin took a month, and Ray Charles complained that drugs were too hard to come by in the Ireland of 1964.
The Salkinds, who later went on to produce the mammoth "Superman " filmed this in Dublin and left a few unpaid cheques along the way.
