An interesting and mysterious thriller with suspense, intrigue , tension , red herrings , twists and turns . This is a mystery movie though extremely stagy , almost theatrical and with a main question to solve : to determine who is the murderer has killed a marriage at an apartment . Based on a twisted and uneven story and script from Francisco Javier Bueno, Jose Maria Castaño , Daniel Ribera and director Ricardo Blasco himself . Director Ricardo Blasco shoots with skillness and professionality enough this complex and well-paced flick , moving between thriller and Noir Film , including the ordinary Femme Fatale . Main starring Francisco Rabal gives a good acting , as usual . He is well accompanied by a nice support cast, such as : Howard Vernon who was Jesús Franco's regular , Felix Dafauce , Santiago Rivero, Gisia Paradis , Lola Lemos , and Mara Lasso as a cabaret artist showing her dancing skills .
Here stands out the atmospheric cinematography by Antonio Macasoli with plenty of lights and shades . The motion picture was produced by Sergio Newman from Hispamer and being professionally directed by Ricardo Blasco. He provides a skill realization , getting a decent intrigue movie . Ricardo Blasco began working as direction assistant for filmmaker Luis Lucía and as a writer . His first movie was the Spanish/French co-production titled : Noches Andaluces 1953 . After that , he made comedies as Amor Bajo Cero , Destino Barajas . Later on , he makes thrillers as Armas Contra La Ley 1961 and Autopsia de un Criminal 1963 . And finally , some Spaghetti/Paella Westerns : Gringo 1963 , Tres Espadas del Zorro 1963 , and its sequel : El Zorro Cabalga Otra Vez 1965 . Rating : 6.5/10 . The yarn will appeal to Francisco Rabal fans and Spanish cinema followers .
