'Pick Up Girl', the play on which this is based opened in May 1944 at the 48th St Theater, NYC and ran for 198 performances. A production toured Britain 1946-7 before a run in London's West End featuring Peter Wyngarde and 'Peggy' Margaret Ramsay.
