The reigning monarchs of the small screen in the 50s, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz had a hand in producing this syndicated series which was shot at their studio. The gimmick here is that for the one season of its run Wire Service had three different stars all playing wire service reporters. Usually their reporting of the news determined whether a story had more than local significance.
A different star alternated every week, George Brent, Dane Clark, and Mercedes McCambridge. More often than not these people were the story as well.
Wire Service didn't exactly have a big budget to shoot with, but the stories were interesting. I guess I'm one of the few who remember this series which didn't find an audience.
