The series has the earliest animated appearances of Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts comic strip characters, not including the TV commercials for the Ford Falcon model for the Ford Motor Company.
In the summer of 1961, The Ford Show was replaced by 'Great Ghost Tales (1961)'. On the 1961-1962 NBC schedule, the vacant time slot was filled by 'Hazel (1961)', also sponsored by Ford Motor Company.
The show was sponsored by the Ford Motor Company, whose founders shared a last name with the host but had no known relation.
In 1959 the shows intros used some of the cast of Peanuts. Although she was given no credit, Cathy Steinberg, the voice of Sally Brown, is actually voicing Linus in the intro with Charlie Brown and the skipping record player.
