Spanish /French co production which takes place in the two countries ,using actors from the two countries:Dany Carrel,Howard Vernon ,and singer Mick Micheyl were the French crew. The Spanish title was based on a radio contest -featured in the movie- but the FRench (probably because there was not such a radio show in their country) felt compelled to give the movie a ludicrous name, completely irrelevant "Ce Soir Les Souris Dansent" (=tonight the mice will play) .One should note that in France "Souris"(mouse)is slang for "woman" .
With such a title ,one might think this movie deals with stuff like cigarettes n' whiskey and wild women. But it does not. It's a fairly good murder mystery ,which could have been made in the thirties .Best scene is the flashback showing the murder with a good use of shadow and light and the instrument maker's almost crazy face .The final clue is not that bad and even original but the movie is marred by a pointless chase the purpose of which is to get rid of the villain.Entertaining though.
