Louis de Funès's character is Michel Leboeuf, of the vice squad, and he often clucks and moves his arms like a chicken. One should know that in France, police officers are derogatorily known as "poulets" (chickens), as in English speaking countries they are called "pigs".
The film includes some members of Les Branquignols, and some of their popular stage comedy and musical sketches. The troupe was credited in the movie's trailer. Four of them were in the top cast: Robert Dhéry, Colette Brosset, Francis Blanche, Robert Destain.
The credits include "the 100 most beautiful women of Paris", but there are no more than eighteen girls on stage at a certain time. The language expression "women of Paris" was used as the movie's title at least in the UK, Belgium, Finland, and Spain.
