Both now well into their 90s and nearing the century mark, as of the year 2020, both co-stars Janis Paige (Joy) and Joyce Reynolds (Jackie) are long-surviving members of this cast.
According to a contemporary article in the Los Angeles Examiner, Warner Bros. paid $200,000 in May 1944 for the film rights to the play. That amount equates to nearly $3,000,000 in 2020.
Joyce Reynolds, Robert Hutton, and Edward Arnold all also starred in Janie (1944).
Reginald Denham's play on which the film was based was set in Ironville, Ohio. It was changed to Hempstead, Ohio for the film. Both towns are fictitious.
Produced February to April of 1947 but not released until over a year later in June of 1948.
