While this short features Shemp and not Curly, it's still a lot of fun--though I always prefer Stooges shorts with Curly--he was THE third Stooge. However, Shemp does a pretty good job and the team was forced to either disband or keep going without Curly due to his ill health.

This short features the threesome as tailors. They owe money on their rent and unless they pay up ASAP, their business will be closed. But employing some comedy timing, just after getting this letter they overhear an announcement on the radio concerned a wanted safe cracker--and the reward will take care of all their expenses. So naturally the boys ultimately have a showdown with the tough guys and in the end, everything is exactly as you would predict....well, not quite, as the ending provides a cute little twist. While this is NOT a great short, it's agreeable enough and something non-Stooge fans can still enjoy.

This is the first of the Shemp shorts that I've seen, and while some of the gags were not the cleverest I've seen from some the Stooges' earlier works, there were also some pretty good sight gags in this film. Moe comes off as a pretty mean guy at the beginning, and cooking lunch on the linen press was hardly impressive, but the ironing scene was funny, as was the fight scene at the end. Besides that, you just have to love the characteristic sound effects.

A burglar runs into the Stooges linen shop, curiously named Pip Boys, followed by a police officer, who the Stooges promptly begin trying to sell new clothing to. They are not doing very well in their business, and when they discover that the burglar was in their shop and not only is there a reward available for his capture but he also left a piece of paper with a combination written on it, they frantically begin their efforts to cash in on the opportunity.

It's a very simple premise devised as a ploy to allow for some of their characteristic slapstick comedy, but that's what these shorts were made for. I found that the funny parts and the parts that just seemed to fall flat just about evened each other out, and while I tend to be more impressed by earlier works like Disorder in the Court, one of my favorites, Sing a Song of Six Pants is an entertaining short film.

Although I Am not the biggest Three Stooges fan in the world, a little of them here and there can't hurt now, can it? In 'Sing A Song of Six Pants', The combo, consisting this time of Larry, Moe and Shemp, are dry cleaners. After finding a safe combination in a pair of pants and realizing the clothes they dryclean are owned by a local gangster in town, they decide to keep the combination when the gangster's moll shows up. When the gangster himself comes by, then of course all pandemonium breaks loose! You can imagine the rest of the story, and well, the way the guys flesh the thing out, eg more kiddie violence, stupid humor and generally bad behavior then one can tolerate. Although this is of course juvenile, I found myself laughing at spots, so I guess this won me over!

If a you are stooges purist and only watch the films featuring Curly, make an exception in this case. ranks with "a plumbing we will go' as quintessential stooges. Larry, Moe and Shemp are the wonderful pip boys, tailors. Includes classic scenes where breakfast (pancakes) is cooked on an ironing press and a crooks head is pressed in the same device.

Lary, Moe, and Shemp are tailors in debt to the Skin & Flint finance corporation which is threatening to repossess their equipment. The radio announces a large reward for the capture of fugitive safe cracker Hargan. Hargan sneaks into the shop to hide as a mannequin while pursued by Detective Sharp. Hargan manages to escape but he leaves behind a piece of paper with a safe combination. He sends his girlfriend Flossie to retrieve it.

The boys try their best but it doesn't have the same slapstick hilarity as with Curley. The shredded coat bit isn't that funny at first but it gets much funnier when the guy returns. It does get into hilarity when the three goons come into the shop. It's just so stupid that it gets to be funny. It's funny when other characters are even stupider than the Stooges.

This is a fairly reasonable entry from the Three Stooges, although it still falls short of material being produced by other comic acts of the era. In this one, they are tailors whose business is deeply in debt. A gangster stumbles into their shop while fleeing from the police, and the boys attempt to turn the situation to their advantage.

The moment you see a clothes press on the set you just know someone is going have their head stuck in it before the credits roll. The Stooges couldn't resist a press – clothes, letter, it didn't matter, they just had to stick someone's head in it. Passable entertainment, but the title is the cleverest thing about it.

Another great Shemp classic that delivers tons of laughs. Even though it's not my favorite, because it seems like Shemp is attempting to steal some of Moe's style, you are still on the floor laughing from the jokes.

The boys are tailors in this episode. They are in great debt and need a to find a way to pay back the IRS so they can keep their shop. When they hear about a fugitive with a pretty nifty award, they have some hopes. But seriously, what are the chances they'd catch this guy? Well, with the three stooges there, of course they'd have a good chance, only they mistake the robber for a mannequin when he is running from a cop. When the robber is in the clear and goes back home, his pants that Shemp removed for a customer are still there at the shop with a combination for a safe with lots of money in it. He decides to go back with some goons, and our stooges get into another crazy adventure not knowing what they got themselves into.

The Stooges, in this short, are "The Pip Boys: Lary, Moe & Shemp." (Yeah, that's the way they spelled Larry on their front door. They are tailors and sell new and second-hand clothes.

The story involves the boys trying not to be foreclosed and a bank robber who is on the loose. If the Stooges can somehow catch the crook and get the reward money, they could stay in business.

Like a number of these shorts involving Shemp - who I did really like and think was funny - a lot of the routines are re-hashed stuff that were done in prior "Curly episodes." Nonetheless, Shemp adds his touches.

Also similar to many, this short only really starts cooking the last 5-6 minutes when chaos usually erupts. In this case, it's at the store when the crook and his pals return to look for a missing safe combination and some cash stolen out of his sports-coat.

Overall, a "fair" episode, but not a whole lot we haven't seen before.

wow, where to begin? this is a classic on so many counts! the featured clothing store is a modern "vintage" clothing collector's dream, with tons of double breasted wide label suits hanging everywhere, note how tailored suits had the initials embroidered inside the label, and the owners name written in a tag inside the breast pocket, which i learned much later and never understood as a wee lad how Moe found out whose suit it was! When I first discovered Stooges reruns on a local UHF channel, I think the first episodes I caught featured Shemp, and it was my pop who told me about Curly, whom I did eventually see, of course, but I always dug Shemp's antics, and his hair all over his face especially after Moe slapped him.. Just as he does his routine with the card table in Flagpole Jitters, here he wrestles with the ironing board which culminates with accidentally hitting Moe in the face with the broom, and Moe's reaction is as usual, priceless! This was the peak of their shorts, in my opinion, and one of which I never grow tired of watching.. Enjoy!

The Three Stooges has always been some of the many actors that I have loved. I love just about every one of the shorts that they have made. I love all six of the Stooges (Curly, Shemp, Moe, Larry, Joe, and Curly Joe)! All of the shorts are hilarious and also star many other great actors and actresses which a lot of them was in many of the shorts! In My opinion The Three Stooges is some of the greatest actors ever and is the all time funniest comedy team!

One of My favorite Stooges shorts with Shemp is none other than Sing a Song of Six Pants! All appearing in this short are the great Vernon Dent, the excellent Tiny Brauer, the beautiful Virginia Hunter, Phil Arnold, the hilarious Cy Schindell, Jules White, Bing Connolly, Dee Green, and Johnny Kascier. Dent, Brauer, Hunter, and Schindell are great here! There are so many funny parts here. This is a very hilarious short. There is another similar Three Stooges short like this one called Rip, Sew, and Stitch and I recommend both!

Moe, Larry, and Shemp use comic timing and smooth interplay with each other and with the supporting cast to make this a good comedy that gets a lot of laughs from their standard repertoire of slapstick and gag ideas. The setting in a clothing store is used well, with many of the props featuring in the slapstick routines.

The story has the trio stumbling across a wanted criminal, even as they are in the midst of their own business problems. As usual, the Stooges are oblivious to most of what is going on, and yet that merely serves to make it impossible for their adversaries to outwit them. The effect is always funny, and especially so when combined with a little good slapstick.

It's easily among the better of the features that have Shemp replacing Curly. The pace is good, and the story is amusingly improbable. The material is familiar, but funny nonetheless.

This one is so funniest slapstick of 1947's short film from "The Three Stooges" and this one of my favorite "The Three Stooges" short film and Curly is definitely one of my favorite stooges. This one also public domain short film with this "Disorder in the Court" (1936), "Brideless Groom" (1947) and "Malice in the Palace" (1949) and there too many cheap VHS and DVD (I own some of cheap DVD and VHS) and also "The Three Stooges Collection: Volume Five" DVD and disc 2 from Sony Pictures.

This is really good funniest of "The Three Stooges" short film and include Moe, Larry and Shemp again with also Vernon Dent (plenty "The Three Stooges" short film return to the guest-star again) as Detective Sharp (stooges thought he the customer of their tailor shop) who trying to catch fugitive robber named Terry 'Slipperyfinger' Hargan (Tiny Brauer). Plenty of laugh in the every with stooges scene and Shemp got trouble with the ironing board, Larry drinking cleaning fluid bottle by mistake and he spit out at Moe's back of his head and stooges fights with Terry 'Slipperyfinger' Hargan's henchman. Cy Schindell is one is the hilarious actor who plays one of Terry's henchmen and he hilarious his head in the steam press machine one is cracks me up this scene.

Classic Shemp Short. Shemp was back in his old spot and comfortable at it by now. There is no type of job you can give the boys that won't descend into mayhem. Moe jumping over the counter early in this one still surprises me. He was in his early fifties by now. Had a lot of laughs left for quite a few years yet.

This was part of a 3-DVD box-set, and this disc came with the Laurel and Hardy shorts Mud & Sand, Just Ramblin' Along, Oranges and Lemons, The Tree in a Test Tube and another Three Stooges one, Brideless Groom; it also came with Malice in the Palace, and the features Atoll K(or Utopia) and Flying Deuces. At least this has one decent joke(the 200% one), amongst all the brutal violence made out to look like it is excruciatingly painful, crossing the border into pure torture here and there. That is all, however. 17 minutes, and only one piece of material that isn't based on us laughing at others being hurt(because, you know, we're not the ones getting hit, jabbed, beaten, etc.). It's called "schadenfreude" in German. The act of enjoying other people's suffering. Slapstick doesn't have to be like that(I refer you to aforementioned duo), and the only thing I can come up with to explain these is that people were tense and unhappy around this time, and seeing others have it bad, or even worse, made them feel better about themselves. Yeah. Or you could, y'know, try to solve the problems, seek out the cause of your static, unsatisfying, no-light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel lives and attempt to deal with it. I recommend this solely to fans. 5/10

I've been a fan of The Three Stooges for as long as I could remember. Shemp rules! In this episode our heroes play tailors who are trying to pay off a debt, and they are pursued by ruthless gangsters.

The scene where Moe, Larry, and Shemp beat up the gangsters was one of their greatest moments, ever! I grew up watching comedy teams of the past and back then and even now I'll always think The Three Stooges are funny! I also like Laurel and Hardy and The Marx Brothers, too!

I have other favorite Stooges episodes, but this one tops them all! I give it 5 out of 5 stars!

I was never a big Shemp fan but this is one of his better shorts. The boys are tailors at a store called Skin and Flint and there having a problem with money, a police officer comes by and warns theres a robber on the loose. This was just a really funny short even fight seen at the end was funny Shemp got hung up on a spinning hanger and the guy was punching him and he kept spinning around and punching the guy back.

No, you knuckleheads! That's Terry Horgan! He was here! Yes, there's a lot to like in this brilliant short. Where can I begin? Moe cooking pancakes on a steam press? Shemp keeping a pair of trousers in a window shade? How about Shemp reading with his lips as he peruses the Sunday funnies---this, of course, interspersed with fits of convulsive laughter, along with the requisite "hee-bee-bees" thrown in. Then there's Shemp reaching down a trouser leg and snatching a 50 dollar bill from Moe's hand, thinking he's found another fifty, whence follows a bit of comedic brilliance: you know what Moe's going to do (justifiably so), but it kills you nonetheless. How about that set-up to the film's climax: Terry Horgan and his henchmen stroll into the shop in disguise (phony beards) and deliver that immortal line, "We-would-like-our-suits-cleaned-and-pressed-while-we-wait," in a ridiculously overplayed staccato. Even the Stooges' suspicions are aroused by that! And the great Shemp almost gets away by putting on one of the phony beards himself. Then there's Cy Schindling getting the steam press treatment. There's even Vernon Dent, as if the film didn't have enough! Check out Shemp's reaction when Vernon threatens him with "I ought to run you in!" There's Larry wondering if he's hallucinating whether the "Pip Boys'" mannequins are coming to life, before shoving Terry Hargan's trousers in Vernon Dent's face with the imperative, "Smell the ocean!" Oh, brother, I could go on and on . . . The pace is breakneck, the timing sublime. Even time-worn gags, when interjected, come off great, thanks mostly to the Stooges' formidable talents. I can't recommend this Stooges short strongly enough. So I won't. Watch it when you have the chance.
