"Lux Radio Theater" broadcast a 60 minute radio adaptation of the movie on
Februray 19, 1945 with John Hodiak, Anne Baxter, Charles Winninger reprising their film roles.
A little over seven minutes into the film is a scene in which the grandfather and grandson enter the USO downtown. It is staged in a way that is rare for the period. While the scene inside the USO is taking place, it is obvious that the street scene outside is not created by rear projection but instead is live, complete with vehicles moving and actors crossing the street and then walking directly into the interior setting. It is likely the interior set was constructed right at an exterior wall of a soundstage where an opening onto the back lot was located, with the street setting being on the studio back lot.
Debut of actress Connie Marshall.
Chill Wills and John Hodiak were both also in A Stranger in Town.
Though considered the male lead, John Hodiak doesn't appear until two thirds of the way through this film.
