This film is one of over 200 titles in the list of independent feature films made available for television presentation by Advance Television Pictures announced in Motion Picture Herald 4 April 1942. At this time, television broadcasting was in its infancy, almost totally curtailed by the advent of World War II, and would not continue to develop until 1945-1946. Because of poor documentation (feature films were often not identified by title in conventional sources) no record has yet been found of its initial television broadcast. In Los Angeles its earliest documented telecast occurred Thursday 13 January 1949 on KFI (Channel 9), in Salt Lake City Monday 6 June 1949 on KDYL (Channel 4), and in New York City 22 January 1951 on WJZ (Channel 7).

Great racing footage in this film.

Working college student Jimmy inherits a race horse, Lightning Lad, who he discovers is really fast spurned on by the braying of a goat Albertine. He knows he can win the big handicap race but he is never going to be able to come up with the $1000 entrance fee or pay for the care and up keep of the horse. His friend comes up with the idea to sell shares of the horse to other college students and then enter some shorter races to earn the fee...which they manage to do successfully. Just when things are looking up a gambler, con artist and competition try to throw a monkey wrench in the works.

Short and sweet this film has a surprising twist in that the pretty girl who seemed really evil makes an about face and helps make the race fair in the end!
