There is a painting over Mr. Maydig's (Ernest Thesiger's) fireplace of the interior of a Greek style palace. Later, Mr. Fotheringay's (Roland Young's) transformation of Colonel Winstanley's (Sir Ralph Richardson's) house into a palace looks pretty much like the one in the painting.

All the members of the team were brought to Britain by Korda or trained by him, the reason being that at that time special effects in Britain were still very backward in comparison to those in America and Korda wanted to raise standards to those of Hollywood.
