This film was first shown on television Thursday 30 November 1939 on New York City's pioneer, and still experimental television station W2XBS.
Trade paper news item: "New York, Thursday, April 25, 1940: All prints of "Mayerling" will be withdrawn from circulation and further distribution (in the U.S.), according to I.E. Lopert, president of Pax Films, Inc."
"The Hedda Hopper Show - This Is Hollywood" broadcast a 30 minute radio adaptation of the movie on June 21, 1947 with Charles Boyer reprising his film role.
