Originally shown in partially hand-tinted color, with some scenes tinted and toned as well, DVD restoration accurately retains them all, to maximum effect.

As released the serial contains an error in editing ; Scenes wrongly in Chapter 4: From 11:05 to 13:25 (we see without warning Ghung's spy at Tavanier's lodgings, when it is in Ep5 at 7:49 that a panel says "And Ghung's spy, on his mission to death, arrived at Tavanier's lodgings." Then we see here in Ep4 Ghung arriving on elephant, and his elephant leaving) when his visit is later in Chapter 5. Correctly, we see then Ghung at Temple warned that an infidel is in the Temple, Tavanier the adventurer gentleman of fortune (hence the source of all the jewels he gathered). Same scenes rightly in Chapter 5: At 3:45 Ghung (informed by his observer) "So it is the Frenchman who seeks Bagi's daughter! This box, it is death--quick and horrible". 7:49 Ghung's spy arrives at Tavanier's lodgings, 9:30 Ghung arrives while Bagi stills looks at his gold, 10:16 elephant gone, Bibi finishes to pray--next scene is Tavanier on his way to see Bibi again. Elsewhere in this serial, there is also a scene which can be confusing in our days of video at will--viewers at release time had nine weeks to remark it--as director Stuart Paton reduced costs as much as possible for location and costumes, it is the exact same scene apparently in Chapter 4 The Jewel of Sita and Chapter 13 The Lash of Hate with the three heroes gathering on the boat, placed in same order, wearing the same clothes. In Chapter 4 Dakar begins a story, and here in Chapter 13 the context of Chapter 4 seems repeated, except that now a table visible on Chapter 4 constantly in foreground is no more visible here Chapter 13, only visual indication with the position of a side chair on left that the time of story is different.
