John Barrymore was originally slated for the title role, but at the Eleventh Hour 'The Great Profile' withdrew in order to play "Raffles" for another company. Stage actor Lytell became an overnight star when he stepped into the part at the last minute.
As of 2017, according to the Library of Congress, no known prints of this film can be found in archives. It is presumed to be a lost film.
