Nathan Fillion was born on 27 March 1971 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He is the son of Cookie (Early) and Bob Fillion, both retired English teachers, and has an older brother, Jeff. His father is of French-Canadian descent, and his mother is of English, German, Finnish, and Norwegian ancestry. In Canada, he attended Holy Trinity Catholic High School, Concordia University College of Alberta and University of Alberta. Before moving to New York City in 1994, he participated in improv theatre, including Theatresports with Rapid Fire Theatre and improvised soap opera Die-Nasty. He also appeared in a TV Movie Ordeal in the Arctic (1993) starring Richard Chamberlain and in Strange and Rich (1994).

Fillion's first regular role was on a daytime soap opera, One Life to Live (1968), as Joey Buchanan, for which role he was nominated in 1996 for a Daytime Emmy Award. He left the series after three years in 1997. During the late 1990's, he appeared in small roles in the films Saving Private Ryan (1998) and Blast from the Past (1999). Fillion also guest starred on Das Bootie (1997), Mama's Got a Brand New Bag (1998) and Starcrossed (1999). His biggest break by then happened in 1998, when he was cast as Johnny Donnelly on the 2nd season of Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place (1998) opposite Traylor Howard, Ryan Reynolds, Richard Ruccolo and Suzanne Cryer. He starred on the show for 60 episodes.

After "Two Guys" ended in 2001, Fillion gained critical acclaim and a large cult of fans when he starred as Captain Malcolm Reynolds on the Joss Whedon's Firefly (2002). Unfortunately the show was prematurely canceled in late 2002. He also guest starred on several episodes of two short lived TV shows, Pasadena (2001), as Rev. Glenn Collins and Miss Match (2003), as Adam Logan. In 2003, Whedon gave Fillion another chance to display his range when he cast Fillion as the twisted preacher Caleb, a villain, in the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997). Before and after "Firefly", Fillion appeared in many movies, Dracula 2000 (2000), Alligator Point (2003), Water's Edge (2003), If Dad Only Knew (2004) and Hollywood Division (2004).

Whedon vowed to resurrect "Firefly" in some way, and Fillion played Captain Reynolds again in the feature-film Serenity (2005). Fillion followed this film with more big screen leading roles, in the horror-comedy Slither (2006), in White Noise 2: The Light (2007), in the indie hit Waitress (2007) opposite Keri Russell and in Trucker (2008). He also continued to be a force in television, starring in the short-lived Fox-TV series Drive (2007) and appearing on a recurring role as Dr. Adam Mayfair on the 4th season of ABC's Desperate Housewives (2004), opposite Dana Delany. He also appeared on I Do (2006) and was a voice actor on many video games (e.g. Halo 3 (2007)).

In 2008, he took his first singing part (and cemented his cult appeal) as Captain Hammer in Whedon's musical Internet smash Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (2008), with Neil Patrick Harris, Felicia Day and Simon Helberg. In 2009, he was cast as the title character Richard Castle in ABC's hit television series, Castle (2009). The show has aired more than 160 episodes and Nathan Fillion has won four People's Choice Awards for Favorite Dramatic TV Actor, as of 2016. In 2018, Fillion took the starring role in The Rookie (2018) as John Nolan, a contractor who starts over as a rookie police officer in the LAPD after a life-altering event. Besides starring on "Castle", he has appeared in many movies, in Super (2010) as The Holy Avenger, in Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing (2012) as Dogberry, the incompetent chief of security, in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013) as Hermes and in Thrilling Adventure Hour Live (2015).

His credits as a voice-actor are numerous: on Bright Lights, Dean City (2010) as Brown Widow, in Wonder Woman (2009) as Steve Trevor, in Green Lantern: Emerald Knights (2011), Justice League: Doom (2012), Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (2013) and Justice League: Throne of Atlantis (2015) as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, in Robot Chicken: DC Comics Special (2012) as Green Lantern/Mr. Freeze, on American Dad! (2005), in Pixar's Monsters University (2013) as Johnny, in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) as Monstrous Inmate and on Gravity Falls (2012) as Preston Northwest. He also voices the lead, Shojun in the animated movie, Yamasong: March of the Hollows (2017). He has also continued voicing characters in video games, such as in Destiny (2014) and in Halo 5: Guardians (2015).

He has also guest starred on The Daly Superheroes (2012) as himself, on Community (2009) as Bob Waite, on The Comic Book Store Regeneration (2015) as himself, on Twins (2015) as Mountie McMinniman, on Con Man (2015) as Jack Moore and on Space (2015) as Wernher Von Braun. He also narrated the documentary, Highway of Tears (2015).

Jessica has spent her whole life dedicated to helping move Indigenous communities forward. Michael J. Fox was born Michael Andrew Fox on June 9, 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to Phyllis Fox (née Piper), a payroll clerk, and William Fox. His parents moved their 10-year-old son, his three sisters, Kelli Fox, Karen, and Jacki, and his brother Steven, to Vancouver, British Columbia, after his father, a sergeant in the Canadian Army Signal Corps, retired. During these years Michael developed his desire to act. At 15 he successfully auditioned for the role of a 10-year-old in a series called Leo and Me (1978). Gaining attention as a bright new star in Canadian television and movies, Michael realized his love for acting when he appeared on stage in "The Shadow Box." At 18 he moved to Los Angeles and was offered a few television-series roles, but soon they stopped coming and he was surviving on boxes of macaroni and cheese. Then his agent called to tell him that he got the part of Alex P. Keaton on the situation comedy Family Ties (1982). He starred in the feature films Teen Wolf (1985), High School U.S.A. As a singer/songwriter, Jill wrote all of the music and lyrics on her debut album, "Ghost In My Head". She performed on the Lilith Tour with Sarah McLachlan, The Indigo Girls and the Dixie Chicks and was featured on The Indigo Girls' live album "Staring Down The Brilliant Dream". Jill also wrote all the music and lyrics on her second album, "I Do", which was released in October 2015. She is currently at work writing her third album.

Born on November 10, at 2:30A.M., 1991 in Edmonton during a terrible snow storm, Genevieve Buechner was born to single parent mother Tea Buechner. She began to pester her mother about acting lessons when she was three. Her mother was very reluctant to encourage this interest.

Still Genna persevered and finally her mother allowed her to take a small course in acting from the local theatre - Vancouver Youth Theatre. After completing the course Genna asked if she could please audition for the youth theatre's acting tour. Her mother refused, explaining that as Genna had no experience; the chances were not high that she would make the selection. Later that evening the director for the tour called their home demanding to know why Genevieve Buechner had not come to the audition. A special audition was set up for her the next day, and Genna was selected as the youngest member of the cast. During the tour performances, Genna was scouted by Robert Carrier and signed to Carrier Talent Management in Vancouver Canada.

A week later Genevieve was sent to audition for the lead in a Toronto Independent Film called St. Monica. Both Mother and child were utterly unprepared for the audition, and Genna showed up in dirty clothes, with unbrushed hair. Casting Director Carol Tarlington took pity on the hapless two, explained some of the rules, tidied her up and prepared her for the camera. Genevieve Buechner got the lead role at the age of ten years - the first film audition that she had ever been to and was flown to Toronto within three days. The film went on to be a festival success playing across North America and being selected for the Berlin Film Festival, the Atlantic Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival and the Vancouver Film Festival. She was nominated for a Canadian Leo Award for Best Lead performance by a female in 2003 for that role.

Since then she has been cast in Feature Films, lead roles in M.O.W. and has had recurring roles in Television series including the Battlestar spin- off "Caprica" as Tamara Adams.

Olivia Cheng is a dynamic actress and activist born in Edmonton, Alberta to working class, Cantonese-speaking immigrant parents. It was they who helped co-found the Edmonton Chinese Bilingual Education Association's Mandarin program within the city's public school system to which Olivia credits for her ability to speak Mandarin and instilling in her a reverence for her culture.

She enrolled in her first acting class at age six, and at age 19 she booked her first local commercial. After high school, Olivia attended the University of Alberta where she earned a scholarship and early admittance to its commerce program. Unhappy in university, she enrolled at NAIT's Radio and Television Arts program the following year, which would lead her to a successful media career. After finishing school, she became a videographer for Global TV Lethbridge, before moving back to Edmonton to work as a broadcast and print journalist.

At the height of her journalism career, AMC was launching its original content division and came to Alberta with a Walter Hill- helmed mini-series, executive produced by Robert Duvall. They were looking for five Chinese actresses, but were willing to look at non-professionals as well. Duvall saw Olivia's audition and asked to bring her back. She was then cast in "Broken Trail", which was nominated for 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and would go on to win four, including the Emmy for Outstanding Mini- Series. "Broken Trail" gave Olivia the push she needed; she moved to Vancouver and worked as a stringer correspondent for ET Canada, while she pursued her acting career full time.

In 2014 Olivia booked a breakout, leading role in the Netflix series, "Marco Polo" which set a precedent for production, as one of the most expensive television series ever produced. She recently appeared in SYFY's "Deadly Class" executive produced by the Russo Brothers, and based on the popular comic books.

In 2022, Olivia reprised her starring role in the HBOMax Original series "Warrior" for a season 3 debut in 2023. The series is inspired by the writings and work of martial arts icon, Bruce Lee. The series is from "Fast & Furious" director, Justin Lin and HBO Cinemax's "Banshee" co-creator Jonathan Tropper. She also starred in 2022 for another season on AppleTV+'s hugely successful post- apocalyptic series SEE, led by Jason Momoa. Her first short film "Dinner with Dex" as a writer director premiered at the London International Film Festival in 2021 and has gone on to win awards at the Toronto Indie Filmmakers Festival and the Tokyo International Short Film Festival.

Monique Ganderton was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Monique has always been adventurous. She achieved high levels of track and field, equestrian show jumping and is also a certified snowboard instructor. Monique was involved in diving, gymnastics, softball, figure skating, equestrian and later various Martial Arts. Monique has always been an avid writer and artist and thought about going into journalism prior to performing.

Monique was discovered at a local shopping mall in Edmonton by a modeling agent and agreed to give it a try. Monique relocated to Toronto and began taking acting classes and working as a background performer to learn about film-making. Monique booked her first acting role on TV show Mutant X, which also happened to require a stunt. She was seen as a natural athlete and the stunt coordinators encouraged her to also train to become a stunt performer.

Monique continued to audition and she pursued stunt work adamantly. She landed her first Stunt gig on feature film, "The Recruit". Monique then packed up for the west coast to reunite with family, friends and her love of nature. She booked Stunt roles on Irobot, Xmen 3, Tron, and many other notable films and TV shows. Monique later moved to California to pursue an international career. She proceeded to win stunt awards performing as Charlize Theron's stunt double in Atomic Blonde. This feature also gave Monique her first Stunt coordinating credit. She then went on to Stunt Coordinate Avengers Infinity war and Endgame making her the first female stunt coordinator for Marvel Studios.

Monique supports many charities Dirty Dog Squad, Mustang heritage foundation, Wild Horse Preservation campaign, Wild Horse Freedom Federation, Wild Horses In Need , Southern Conservation Trust and in Canada Alzheimer's society of Alberta, BC Cancer foundation and Wild Horses of Alberta Society. Monique most recently was a part of the Georgia wild mustang TIP training program where she gentled two wild mustangs in Georgia, USA.

Melody Anderson was born on 3 December 1955 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She is an actress, known for Flash Gordon (1980), Dead & Buried (1981) and Speed Zone (1989).

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Lisa Ryder started performing as a child through dance, attending the Edmonton Studio of Ballet. She never considered acting as a career until she attended the University of Toronto. There she took Drama as an option and was bitten by the acting bug. After graduation, she and some friends formed "Bald Ego Productions", a local Toronto theatre group. While with "Bald Ego", Lisa displayed a multitude of talents, choreographing, writing, and co-writing many of stage shows. In the mid-nineties, Lisa began appearing on television with guest spots on shows like Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (1993) and PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal (1996).

Her first "big" role came in the form a straight-laced cop named "Tracy Vetter" on the sci-fi/drama show Forever Knight (1992). "Forever Knight" allowed Lisa to build a cult following on the Internet that continued to grow, even after the show was canceled. After "Forever Knight", Lisa continued acting on stage, television and film. She had a variety of guest spots on many science fiction shows, but also appeared on the critically acclaimed CBC series The Newsroom (1996). In 1998, she received critical acclaim herself for her portrayal of "Joey" in the film Stolen Heart (1998). David Jason was born in Edmonton, London, in 1940. He has become one of Britain's most famous, versatile and respected actors, who is most famous for his role in Only Fools and Horses (1981) as Del Boy. He made his debut in the series in 1981 and was still playing the same role up to the Christmas special in 2002. His big break came in the 1967 children's comedy show Do Not Adjust Your Set (1967) starring alongside members of the Monty Python team: Terry Jones; Eric Idle, and Michael Palin.

Sadly, in 1990, he spent time away from work to nurse Myfanwy Talog, the Welsh actress who was his long time partner, before she died of cancer at the age of 49. He has come a long way from his days as an electrician and has won numerous awards for his work. He has managed to combine the comedy aspect of his career with rather more serious roles, such as that of Jack Frost in the highly-rated detective series A Touch of Frost (1992) and has proved that he is a man of many talents. In the mid 1970s, he performed as Blanco, an elderly prisoner, in episodes of Porridge (1974) with Ronnie Barker. He has also done voice work in children's TV.

He has not really concentrated on films, although he was very impressive in the TV film All the King's Men (1999), playing Frank Beck, the Commander of the Sandringham Company who mysteriously disappeared whilst in action in The Great War campaign in Gallipoli in 1915.

He lives in Buckinghamshire with his wife, Gill Hinchcliffe and their daughter, Sophie Mae, who was born in 2001. His hobbies are a little DIY and gardening. He was knighted in 2005, becoming Sir David Jason.

A curvaceous and comely lead and second lead actress of the 1950s and 1960s, Dianne Foster was born Olga Helen Laruska on October 31, 1928 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Of Ukrainian parentage, she began her stage career performing in high school plays and in local community theater productions. Her school drama teacher saw extreme promise in her and encouraged her to continue her studies. Dianne then enrolled at the University of Alberta and majored in drama.

She eventually found work in Toronto as a model and as both a radio and stage actress. Encouraged again by her high school teacher, she saved up enough money to go to England for further training and to find work. She won a stage role in the play "The Hollow" starring Jeanne De Casalis that later toured. Following a radio job with Orson Welles, he offered her the part of Cassio's whore in a West End production of "Othello" while Laurence Olivier was holding court at the St James Theater. Welles and Peter Finch starred as Othello and Iago, respectively, with Olivier in the director's seat.

After establishing herself as a bad girl second lead in such "B" level British films as The Quiet Woman (1951), in which she played a scheming ex-girlfriend of Derek Bond and The Big Frame (1952) as a temptress opposite Mark Stevens, Dianne was encouraged to come to Hollywood in the early 1950's. Her first role in Hollywood was as a British character in a TV episode of "Four Star Playhouse" opposite David Niven. As a result of her fine performance, Harry Cohn placed her under a Columbia Pictures contract even though she had not yet secured an agent. Most of her subsequent films were standard adventures in which she provided a pleasant diversion from the rugged action going on around her. She was, on occasion, cast in more substantial roles.

Dianne made a sturdy US cinematic debut in the film noir favorite Bad for Each Other (1953) as a dedicated nurse and love interest to Dr. Tom Owen Charlton Heston. It was Lizabeth Scott who played the bad girl here. Dianne would make a strong stand in westerns notably opposite Dana Andrews in Three Hours to Kill (1954), Glenn Ford and Edward G. Robinson in The Violent Men (1955) and James Stewart and Audie Murphy in Night Passage (1957). She was also quite good, if not better, as Richard Conte's wife in The Brothers Rico (1957) as they struggle together to distance him from his mob ties. Dianne returned to England, where she appeared in Uncle Willie's Bicycle Shop (1953), as a snooty American heiress out to impress Robert Urquhart, and, briefly, in Gideon of Scotland Yard (1958) as Ronald Howard's wife who threatens Jack Hawkins' title character. Her last two films of the 1950s were opposite Alan Ladd in The Deep Six (1958) and Spencer Tracy in The Last Hurrah (1958).

In the 1960s Dianne moved into episodic TV with guest parts in dramas (Perry Mason (1957), Route 66 (1960), Peter Gunn (1958), Ben Casey (1961), Hawaiian Eye (1959), The Detectives (1959), Honey West (1965)), comedies (Petticoat Junction (1963), My Three Sons (1960), "Green Acres") and, of course, westerns (Bonanza (1959), The Deputy (1959), "Have Gun--Will Travel", Laramie (1959), Wagon Train (1957), Gunsmoke (1955), The Big Valley (1965)). She appeared in only two more films before retiring in 1967 -- co-starring with David Janssen in King of the Roaring 20's: The Story of Arnold Rothstein (1961) and with Dean Martin and Elizabeth Montgomery in the light comedy Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed? (1963).

Married twice, Dianne had one child from her first marriage and twins from her second. She retired in order to focus on marriage and family, as well as painting.

She lived in the Los Angeles area for the remainder of her life, dying on July 27, 2019, at the age of 90.

Ben Cotton was born on 26 July 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He is an actor, known for The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), Stargate: Atlantis (2004) and Stan Helsing (2009).

When she was 16, she enrolled in a summer theater program at Oxford University in England, which started her down the path to pursuing a career in acting. She went on to study in the Theater Performance Program at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. Notable roles include the Canadian miniseries, Revenge of the Land (1999), directed by John N. Miranda Frigon is a Canadian Actress and Singer-Songwriter. Born in Edmonton, Alberta she began her acting career at the age of eight, appearing in numerous television commercials. Her childhood and adolescence revolved around competitive gymnastics, ballet and classical piano so performing was a huge part of her life from an early age. She traveled and competed across Canada with her gymnastics team all the while training professionally as a dancer. She then went on to dance in a ballet company for several years before joining and touring with a more diverse company that included more various styles of dance. After moving and settling into Vancouver, B.C. she immediately began booking numerous guest stars on hit network U.S. shows such as "The 4400", "Higher Ground", "The Chris Isaak Show", "John Doe" "True Calling" and "The Dead Zone" to name a few. In her spare time she was writing music and playing live with her band in venues in and around Vancouver. She then landed a 13 episode run on UPN's "Jake 2.0" and the producers also placed 2 of her original songs in the series. This kicked off Miranda's music career of placing her songs in film and television.

In addition to her numerous feature and indie film credits, her most notable pasts TV roles include guest stars on hit shows such as "Bones", ,"Ugly Betty", "Dexter", "The New Adventures of Old Christine", "V", "Motive" "Supernatural" and "The Magicians".

Miranda was nominated for a Canadian Leo Award in 2013 for her leading role on Syfy's "Primeval: New World", was recurring for 5 seasons on the hit drama "Heartland" and is now most recognized for her leading role on Hallmark's "Aurora Teagarden Mysteries" alongside Candace Cameron and Marilu Henner which films in Vancouver, B.C. She was nominated for a Canadian Leo award again in 2015, for her role in this series.

Miranda's original song "Hiding Place" was used in episode 5 of Syfy's "Primeval New World" and it unleashed a worldwide fan base for her music. Terry Keli Chen was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He moved around growing up but was raised mainly in Alberta and on the West coast. After dropping out of the University of Calgary he spent two years traveling throughout Cuba and the Cayman Islands. Terry moved back to Vancouver, British Columbia to pursue his dream of being an actor. In his first year of auditioning, he made his debut in a supporting role as 'Ben Fong-Torres' in the much-lauded film Almost Famous, directed by Cameron Crowe.

Crystle Lightning, the Canadian Screen Award Winner for "Best Actress in a Drama Series" 2021, is an Indigenous Actress from the Enoch Cree Nation in Alberta. She began her career at age nine when she landed her first lead role in the feature: 3 NINJAS: Knuckle Up and has been working in the industry ever since.

Lightning is co-creator and star of the all-Native, hit musical "BEAR GREASE," an Indigenous twist to the 1978 Classic, "Grease," marking her directorial debut.

Kavan was born in Edmonton, Alberta and both he and his brother were raised by his father when his parents divorced. He excelled in many sports as a child focusing on football and martial arts. During his teenage years, he cultivated a love for performing with a friend. They would often skip school to record and rehearse skits they would eventually take public on local buses and to shopping centers. After graduation, Kavan attended the University of Calgary working towards a degree in Economics but dropped out after a year and a half. After a year of contemplation, he enrolled in the Mount Royal University performing arts program. It was here that he developed a love of books and started writing. Soon after graduating he landed a lead role on the Canadian television show Destiny Ridge and moved to Vancouver.

Kavan has been continuously adding versatile film and television roles to his acting repertoire since he discovered his passion for performance. Tanner Novlan was born on 9 April 1986 in Edmonton Alberta Canada. He is an actor, known for Roswell, New Mexico (2019), Modern Family (2009) and Letterkenny (2016). He has been married to Kayla Ewell since 12 September 2015. They have two children.
