I recently watched the Italian thriller 🇮🇹 Orgasmo (1969) on Shudder. The storyline follows a widow who recently received a large inheritance from her deceased husband but becomes bored with her lavish lifestyle...until she meets a man and his "sister," who introduce her to a sexual lifestyle beyond her wildest dreams. What initially seems like a dream quickly turns into a nightmare when they reveal their true motives.

This film is directed by Umberto Lenzi (Ghosthouse) and stars Carroll Baker (Kindergarten Cop), Lou Castel (In the Name of the Father), Colette Descombes (Cani), and Lilla Brignone (Malicious).

This is a fascinating film with numerous twists and turns that are frustrating but fun to watch unfold. Carroll Baker is always awesome, and the characters' dynamics and evolution are brilliantly paced and presented. The "sister" element was entertaining, and there's plenty of sex and nudity. The horror elements are excellent, with a good use of old-school smoke machines and thunder and lightning effects. The resolutions to this film are mind-blowing. What happens to the main character at the end is hilarious, and the brother and sister's outcome was perfection, bringing a big smile to my face. While moments in this film can be frustrating-there are times you want to strangle the main character, and others you're rooting for her-the ending makes the journey worthwhile.

In conclusion, Orgasmo is a unique and brilliantly executed Italian thriller that's an absolute must-see for fans of the genre. I would score this a 7/10 and strongly recommend it.
