I'm such a sucker for the bodyguard trope but as I've gotten older the whole age gap thing has become more uncomfortable for me to watch, especially when the romance is between a man in his mid twenties and a girl in her early teens (the FL is 15 and the ML is 26). The will they or won't they tends to be proceeded by a sexual act that's instigated by the much older ML, leaving the poor FL confused about his feelings when he switches back to "overprotective daddy" mode at the drop of a hat. And as the series goes on, turns into "possessive boyfriend" attitude (which I know is another classic trope and one I admit I was a sucker for when I was a teen, but as a grown woman, I can see how that's a red flag). My breaking point was when a rival is introduced. From day one the rival boy is touching the FL inappropriately, making her visibly and emotionally uncomfortable, but she stays quiet. Then, to "feel alive", the rival boy kidnaps the FL by holding her at knife point, takes her to a warehouse (aided by a gang of goons) and attempts to r*pe her in front of the goons and the ML (who is handcuffed to a pillar). The FL lead manages to kick the Crown Jewels of the rival just as he's ripped her shirt, and this buys the ML enough time to get out of the handcuffs and beat everyone up. The FL and ML then just leave the rival/s*xual assaulter with a slap on the wrist (because the rival is the lead in the school play and heaven forbid they turn the DB over to the police), and the FL acts like everything is just fine. Then the rival continues to hang around and the incident is treated like an prank by the FL rather than the serious crime that it was. I was so disgusted I couldn't watch the rest of the show.
