Silent Library (2009– )
10/10
Outrageous and hilarious at the same time!

Wow, nobody else has reviewed Silent Library??? You are really missing out, and that's not an exaggeration. Originally from Japan, it's a game show where contestants - made up of six friends - must complete various challenges that are ridiculous or gross for cash prizes in what's made to look like a public library (there's even people reading in the background, and they give the contestants disapproving looks as they're making noise. All fake, of course, but that makes it even funnier!). If the person who has to complete the task doesn't do it correctly, or if the other people laugh too loudly, the amount of cash decreases. Back in 2009, when I was 16, my family had cable. Silent Library was the only amusing show on MTV. Everything else was garbage. All of these years later I found the episodes on YouTube, and I still laugh to the point of almost peeing myself. Just as a warning though, contestants often gag and/or throw up, so I wouldn't advise watching this while you're eating, if you're sensitive to that kind of thing. The eating challenges are less disturbing than Fear Factor. It's all in good fun. The underlying purpose isn't to make people look stupid or demoralize them. With all of the hatred and divisiveness in the world, it's nice just to turn off your brain and watch something goofy. Awesome show for teens and young adults!
