The final episode of series one of Keeping Faith ended with her missing husband Evan suddenly turning up.
Series two is set both in the immediate aftermath and 18 months laters. The yellow mac is now joined by a blue trench coat. Evan ends up in jail for his crimes.
In the future, Evan is almost halfway through his prison sentence and Eve is still has to deal with her husband's debt to gangsters who have their eye on an energy company. If Eve helps them out the debt could be wiped out.
Although she has no experience of dealing with a murder case, Eve defends a farmer's wife who has been charged for shooting her husband. This seems to be the new main mystery for the second series.
This was a disjointed opener. The music was moody enough but it was not matched by the script.
There are a multitude of side plots, Eve has an uneasy relationship with her in laws, there is still fallout from her husband's behaviour. I just felt it was not focussed enough and it relied too much on Eve Myles to carry the opening episode on her own.
