There are a lot of talented performers in this movie. Unfortunately, that talent did not extend to the script writers or the composer of the songs, all of which are completely forgettable - though the lyrics are sometimes clever.
The plot is not worth recounting. The characters are barely stereotypes. Jack Oakie, Jack Haley, Martha Raye and Ann Sheridan all shine brighter than the material given them, and make the movie fun to watch. Sheridan in particular, who could do so much more, is really wasted here. Watch her in *The Man who Came to Dinner* sometime to see what she could do with decent material.
There's nothing wrong with this movie. There just isn't anything memorable to it.
