Review of Joy Ride

Joy Ride (1935)
3/10
Tedious Derivative Farce
14 February 2012
This farce is mainly set in the ubiquitous country home where the local duchess is holding a fête.there are 2 young chorines who end up in a compromising position with the master of the house and one of the chorines manages to loose her memory and becomes a child aged about 5.So this film utilises every possible cliché that had been flogged to death by the Aldwych farces. The situations weren't that funny when they were originally presented and they are woefully unfunny in this film.there is a reasonable cast.I always enjoy an appearance by the peppy Zelma O 'Neill. She is always full of vim.alas she can do little to warm up these stale proceedings. The films only virtue is its brevity.
