Awful

This is a sequel to a much better movie, and as many sequels fail to capture the essence of good original, so does this one. The original movie was about an elementary school teacher starting a baseball team in a post war era Japan. The plot was good and cinematography was beautiful.

The story is about what happened to the kids in elementary school after they became adults. The scene moves to Tokyo, and former innocent kids are entangled in shady sides of life of yakuzas.

I started to get bored with this movie after about 10 minutes, and from then on, it was hour and 50 minutes of torture where the story just keeps dragging and never recovers. The movie was done by amateurs. The writer Yu Aku is not a professional screen writer, Toshihiko Tahara, and Isako Washio aren't actors but a singer, and a model. These people were recruited for their popularity in their own fields, and that being the only reason for their appearance in this movie. The poor choice of talents shows. There's absolutely no delivery from either Tahara or Washio of their lines. The good of this movie was Kumi Nakamura as the stripper. She had the most convincing act in the entire movie.

This possibly was the worst movie I've seen. An insult to the viewers. Watch the original "Setouchi shonen yakudan". It's a much better movie.
