A good start

"Keyzer & De Boer advocaten" has an interesting mix of light-hearted cases and drama, which is absolutely worth checking out. If people expect a new "Pleidooi" they will be in for a disappointment because this isn't an old-fashioned drama. And that certainly isn't a bad thing. Many shows have the tendency to turn into tearjerkers that are overly dramatic. Others turn into comedies that are so over the top they aren't even funny anymore. That is not the case with "Keyzer & De Boer" where the comedy aspect is never taken too far. It is a Dutch variation of what "Boston Legal" should have been (said show being a show that is too hilarious yet unfunny for its own good.) "Keyzer & De Boer" has its main idea much better worked out. Henriëtte Tol, Porgy Franssen, and Lineke Rijxman seem to understand best what this show is supposed to be. The characters of Daan Schuurmans and Daphne Bunskoek are at times a bit overstated, but that could be due to the way they are written. This show is just starting off, and both the actors and screenwriters probably need some time to develop their characters, but overall they seem to have got a good start. I would definitely like to see more.
