Daniyar Alshinov
- Actor
Daniyar's journey into the world of cinema has been quite special. He was born and raised in Kazakhstan in a family of teachers. Unable to get enrolled into drama school right after high-school, Daniyar went to study nuclear physics at a local college, but then dropped out during his sophomore year and went to study aerospace engineering at Arizona State University. He graduated and returned home after five years in the U.S. While trying to work as an engineer Daniyar kept following his artistic passion as he was actively going to a local film auditions. Eventually with a good deal of luck Daniyar booked his first job as an actor at the age of 27. That put an aerospace engineer's career to an end and led to the beginning of a new story. In the following years he managed to shine in different genres and topped local box-office, however a new chapter has started when Daniyar met the most distinctive Kazakh director Adilkhan Yerzhanov. Their partnership have produced seven feature films in four years, making them frequent guests at major international film festivals. "A dark-dark man" for instance was part of the official selection in San Sebastian and has won an APSA award, and "Goliath" was selected for Venice's 2022 edition. One of Daniyar's latest projects was a lead part in a french mini-series "Infiniti", premiered at Canneseries.
