- Jai grew up in western Canada and started performing at a very early age. His mom, Yvonne recognized his talents at an early age and insisted that rather than play Hockey he be enrolled in dance and theatre. It was during this time that he began to shine in every production in which he was involved, and was most always cast as the lead or supporting lead. This continued throughout his public school years where he won many awards for both Junior and Senior actor in BC drama festival's.
After high school he moved to Vancouver to continue his theatre studies, however things don't always go as planned. In the early 80's a dream job came his way and he was offered something that would give him the ability to perform onstage at night and allow him to teach his second passion "water skiing" by day. And off to Club Med he goes.
Cue the love of his life Sandy who went to the resort in the Bahamas as a guest where he was working. Immediately smitten he left Club Med after 2 years and moved to Connecticut where they married just 8 months later. Connecticut is close to New York and he thought this would work out well for his acting pursuit, however life has its turns and Sandy became pregnant with the first of their 2 beautiful children a little over a year after they were married. "kids are needy and need food on a regular basis" so the potential to be a starving actor and new father just wasn't in the cards.
Fast forward to 2017 after a successful sales career (everyday was an act) with a fortune 500 company and subsequent training as a yoga teacher and studio owner it was time to get back to career plan one!
Jai is constantly training with many of the finest actors and coaches, and has appeared in over 20 independent and student films as well as TV series episodes and Movies of the week.
He's always enjoyed the lighter side and comedic roles however has recently discovered the thrill of some darker roles.
