Thomas Joseph Whalen IV aka Tom Whalen was born in Beverly, MA to Kathleen (Claffey) and Richard Whalen. After moving to Hampstead, NH at the age 14, Tom attended Pinkerton Academy and began acting. After starring in dozens of plays and musicals throughout his late teens and early 20s, Tom attended Columbia College Chicago with a major in Theater.
After leaving school, Tom perused a career in radio, landing a brief stint, hosting a weekly show on ESPN radio NH.
After leaving the show, Tom moved to Los Angeles where he began doing stand up comedy full time. Tom has performed at SF Sketchfest, The Comedy Store, Hollywood Improv, Hollywood Fringe, Secret Group among other festivals and venues across the country.
Tom found success with his physical brand of acting, appearing in music videos for major record labels and artists such as Capital Records, Sony music, RCA records, Katori Walker, Freddie Dredd and Whiskey Myers.
Tom has appeared in award winning shorts such as Viper Squad, winner of the 2021 Battle of the Sketches competition.
