Gbemisola Scarlet Shotade Gomez is a Nigerian Actress and Singer. In December 2012, she won the Miss United Nations Tourism pageant in Kingston, Jamaica [1].
Early Life Scarlet was born to Nigerian parents in Lagos. Her father, Toks Shotade was a renowned Music Producer & Sound Engineer. She got her early musical influences from working with her Dad in the studio as early as age 7.
Career Scarlet was involved in a lot of pageants including Miss Nigeria, MBGN and Miss Global Nigeria (First Runner up) . After her pageant win in 2012, Scarlet started a brief stint as a music video model, appearing in videos such as Timi Dakolo's 'Love Song' , Lynxxx's 'Eziokwu' and Burna Boy's 'Run My Race'. She recorded her first single on the Dj Klem produced song 'Catch Me' in 2012 [5]. Her break into the Nigerian movie industry was on 'Dollhouse' by Kayode Peters [6]. From there she starred in several Africa Magic original movies including 'Scarlet', 'Perfect Imperfection' & 'President for a day' and others. In 2015 she starred in the Clarence Peters horror film 'Hex' From 2015/2016, she was in the Macromedia Production series 'Casino'. In 2016, Scarlet recorded her first studio album titled 'The Scarlet Letter' produced and released by Knighthouse Ent. She also starred in 'The Other Side' from Wale Adenuga Prooductions [10]. She joined the set of the Mnet Africa TV series 'My Flatmates' in 2016.
