Garrard Conley

Garrard Conley is an American writer and queer rights activist, best known for his autobiography "Boy Erased: A Memoir". Conley was born as a son of a Southern Baptist preacher and former car salesman and grew up in Arkansas, first in Cherokee Village and then in Mountain Home. He studied at the Lyon College. In 2016, he published his memoirs which two years later were adapted into a feature film Boy Erased (2018). In 2024, Conley published his first non-fiction book, "All the World Beside". He's an active participant in many queer rights events. He lives in New York City with his husband.
