Alexander Bertrand jumped into acting after leaving the Australian Army and has quickly carved a place and name for himself among the best Australian actors working today.
He will next be seen playing the role of 'Pitbull' in the film The Surfer opposite Nicolas Cage, directed by Lorcan Finnegan.
He recently starred to great reviews in the lead role of the acclaimed Village Roadshow limited series Australian Gangster from writer/directors Gregor Jordan and Fadia Abboud which premiered in on Channel 7.
Alexander starred as the lead of the series Les Norton, based on the cult classic books of the same name for ABC, starring opposite Rebel Wilson and David Wenham, with directors including Jocelyn Moorehouse and David Caesar.
He first appeared on Australian television in the role of Danny Tollis in the fast-paced action/thriller Hyde and Seek (2016) for Channel 9. He stars in an Australian national commercial campaign for Iron Jack beer. Other television credits include Peter Duncan's Operation Buffalo (2019) starring James Cromwell for Netflix, The Warriors (2017) for ABC and the miniseries Home and Away: Revenge (2016).
He grew up near the beach in Manly, Sydney. He studied acting for 2 years in Sydney. He trained in the martial art of Muay Thai in Thailand and competed for the light heavyweight belt in Phuket at age 20. He currently lives in Los Angeles full time.
