We're now just over two months away from the release of The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell's Wolf Man reboot, and Universal Pictures UK (via FearHQ.com) has debuted an international trailer featuring quite a bit of new footage.

Our first look at what was assumed to be the titular Wolf Man via an actor in a costume at Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights was met with a lot of backlash, but the first teaser did suggest that this will be the creature responsible for the initial attack, leaving Christopher Abbott's Blake to change into a different beast altogether.

The recent full trailer confirmed that the movie will indeed feature another werewolf, and we catch a new glimpse of the monster (he appears to be more bald than we were expecting!) charging through the trees on all fours in this latest teaser.

The “Poor Things” star and “Girls” alum leads the Blumhouse and Universal feature about a werewolf. Julia Garner also stars.

Ryan Gosling produces the film, which is directed by “Saw” co-creator and “The Invisible Man” helmer Leigh Whannell. Gosling was originally cast in the lead role before exiting the project; Abbott took over the titular part.

Abbott and Garner previously starred in “Martha, Marcy, May, Marlene” together in 2011.

Likely as a response to the backlash our recent first look at the titular werewolf via an actor in a costume at Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights received, Blumhouse has released the first official teaser trailer for Leigh Whannell's Wolf Man.

While the trailer mostly keeps the beast under wraps aside from a few shadowy shots, we do get a couple of very quick glimpses of the creature running through the forest, and another through a rifle scope.

It's quite blurry and difficult to make out too many details, but based on what we do see, it does look like the display costume was indeed influenced by the movie monster.

At any rate, this is a very effective teaser, and should garner some more positive feedback from horror fans.

The teaser has been unleashed by Universal in the wake of a questionable Halloween Horror Nights costume based on the movie going viral online, though the teaser doesn’t actually give us a glimpse of the Wolf Man character design. Instead, it effectively sets the mood for a savage werewolf movie through only brief glimpses of Whannell’s fresh take on the material.

Yesterday, we got our first look at what was believed to be the new Wolfman design for Universal and Blumhouse's upcoming reboot (titled Wolf Man), with an actor donning a monster costume to jump out at passers-by at Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights takeover attraction.

The reveal was met with a decidedly mixed response (and we're probably being kind there) from fans, most of whom felt that the titular lycanthrope looked more like some kind of mutant hillbilly from the Wrong Turn movies than an actual werewolf.

There was speculation that this might simply be a guy in a thrown-together outfit and not indicative of the Wolfman's official look, but insider Daniel Richtman believes this is indeed how the creature will be depicted in the movie - though it is said to "look slightly better in the actual film."

It's certainly... a choice! But we're sure it will look at lot better in the movie,...

When Wolf Man was first announced in 2020, Ryan Gosling was set to star in it – and in fact, it got rolling when Gosling pitched this take on the concept of The Wolf Man to Universal, and his idea was then fleshed out into a screenplay by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, a writing duo that previously worked on Orange Is the New Black. At the time, it was said the story was “believed to be set in present times and in the vein of Jake Gyllenhaal’s thriller Nightcrawler with an obvious supernatural twist.” The final version of the script is credited to Blum and Angelo, as well as Whannell and his wife Corbett Tuck.

Unfortunately, the project would get delayed and Gosling would depart from the planned reboot. The leads of the film will be Christopher Abbott and Julia Garner, both of whom were in the 2011 film Martha Marcy May Marlene.

There's a lot of buzz surrounding next January's Wolf Man, Blumhouse's latest movie to put the spotlight on a classic Universal Monster. However, this first look...well, we're guessing it's not what most of you expected.

The character just made his official debut at the latest Halloween Horror Nights in Universal Studios and, while this costume might not be representative of exactly what we'll see in the final movie, the design itself is splitting opinions. He certainly doesn't look like a traditional "Wolfman," anyway, and this feels like a creative decision which could come back to bite the reboot.

It's too late to change it now, of course, and if nothing else, this sneak peek suggests the new Wolf Man will be a 100% practical creation; clearly, the plan is to go for the same vibe as the 1941 classic and there are some similarities in that respect.

Universal and Blumhouse's long-awaited Wolfman movie (now known as Wolf Man) went through a hairy (sorry) phase of production late last year, but cameras officially started rolling back in March, and we now have our first official look at an early promo poster for the film (via FearHQ.com).

The banner was spotted on display at Universal Orlando as part of the park's Halloween Horror Nights takeover. The image gives us a first look at the movie's logo and what will presumably be the primary location of the story, but no sign of the titular lycanthrope, who will likely be kept under wraps until well into the marketing phase.

While the park gets ready for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights takeover, Inside Universal has shared the Wolf Man promo art that is currently on display outside the Fanta Bar at Lombard’s Seafood Grille. A while back, Blumhouse sent out a casting call in search of the right young actor to fill the role of a 10-year-old female character named Ginger in the Wolf Man reboot they’re making for Universal Pictures with The Invisible Man (2020) director Leigh Whannell. Now it looks like we know who’ll be playing Ginger, as Deadline reports that child actress Matilda Firth has been added to the cast of Wolf Man.

With “Wolf Man” now in mid-January 2025, Universal took Blumhouse’s “The Woman in the Yard” — originally slated for January 10, 2025 — off its schedule. That one, starring Danielle Deadwyler, “is now unset and will be re-dated for a later date,” Universal said on Friday. In other words, it definitely won’t be replacing “Wolf Man” this coming Halloween season.
