Mithun Debnath is an Indian Actor/Director/Writer. Graduate in Mass Media & Creative Writing from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi in 2005. Post-graduate in Acting from the prestigious Film & Television Institute of India (Pune, India ). Started his career with onscreen name 'Dweep Mithun' for films namely From Sydney with Love (feature film 2012), Shono Ekti Premer Galpo Boli (incomplete Bengali feature film 2013) Nandigramer Chokher Pani (feature film 2014) and Tenant (Hindi Short film 2014 ).
But later on, changed his name to Mithun Debnath and worked on projects named Sangabora (feature film 2016), Bose: Dead/Alive (Hindi Web/TV Series 2017), Nabab (feature film 2017), Bioscopewala (Feature film 2017), Six (Web series 2018), Robibaar ( feature film 2019) , Iti Memories ( Bengali Web/TV Series, 2022), Hatekhori (feature film 2024), Devi-the goddess (Mini Series 2024). A Hindi short film named Sadak-Chaap (2014) directed by Anvita Sudarshan where Mithun acted was screened at Cannes Short Film Corner in 2015. Apart from on-screen work, he has been doing 'Research and Development 'for fiction and non-fiction for various audio-visual mediums and has written and made a few short films.
A few of his directorial short films are Happy Quarantine (2020), Perfect Strangers (2020) & Besan Ke Laddu (2024).
