Varun Chopra is an LA based Editor/Director and 2018 Sundance Institute's Ignite Fellow. He is one of the project fellows of Academy supported Visual Communication's Armed with a Camera fellowship for 2017-18 and 2018 Film Independent's Incubator Lab Fellow.
Born and raised in New Delhi, Varun Chopra graduated from LMU School of Film and Television where he focused on stories of common people with aspects of social justice. He was the recipient of the SFTV Dean's Scholarship. His projects have screened at multiple film festivals globally. He was featured in LA Times among a team of diverse filmmakers representing young talent and diversity in Hollywood.
His recent project Abandon, a short film about foster kids in a group home facility was picked up for distribution by PBS and KQED's nation wide broadcast.
Varun works extensively in post production as a freelance editor. He has worked on multiple viral videos for GQ, Vogue, Vanity Fair and Wired. He is currently an editor for Prologue Films where he works on title sequences of various film and TV shows for clients like HBO, AMC, Marvel and Netflix among others.
