- Producer
Darren Sirell Cain is an American actor and producer whose credits in top-rated television and independent features span broadcast & cable TV and streaming platforms.
Cain will next be seen starring in the leading role of Senior Special Agent Jason Cole in the feature action-thriller Rift, set to premiere on Apple TV+. Jason Cole (Cain) is the quintessential Renaissance Man who seemingly has it all - a successful career and a beautiful wife. As an FBI agent, he prides himself on being a man of integrity and hard work until his past rears its head and propels him into a situation that not even his training and expertise can prepare him. With time running out, the wrong decision could cost him everything, and unfortunately, the stakes are even higher than he could have ever imagined.
This year, Cain can be seen starring as Victor in the BET+ original thriller drama, A Trophy Wife. After a philandering tech CEO is murdered, every friend becomes a suspect, including his greedy business partner Victor (Cain).
Cain recently starred in the lead role of Keith 'Kilo' Thompson in the BET+ crime drama, Prodigal. The film follows Kilo (Cain), who, after a fatal robbery, puts himself (and the people he loves) in danger as he's pursued by crooked cops and drug kingpin, Censear (Clifton Powell). He also played the role of Devin in the OWN original movie, First Christmas, as well as Vincent Boudreaux in the TV One original true-crime thriller, In Broad Daylight (Shad Moss, Chyna Layne), and on BET Networks fan-favorite drama, The Quad (2018).
On the television side, Cain starred in the strong recurring role of Peter Promnickle on Tyler Perry's BET+ original, Bruh, and was featured in Coins for Christmas (Essence Atkins, Stephen Bishop).
Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C., and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Cain developed the keen ability to nurture his talents through local youth organizations, theatre & performing arts, and high school broadcast journalism.
Following his acceptance into Perimeter College at the Georgia State University College of Business, Cain became involved in university-sponsored theatre and performing arts programs. Proving to be more fulfilling and beneficial to his long-term career aspirations, Cain made the heartfelt decision to forgo the remainder of his degree program to pursue promising opportunities in entertainment.
Inspired by the commercial success of Dwayne' The Rock' Johnson, while mentored by Jesse Malinowski, CEO, and founder of Get Scene Studios, Cain received an intensive, all-access crash course into the business of entertainment. He refocused his energy on discovering his innate artistic potential through scene study, and instrumental, emotional, and immersive exercises. While immersing himself in various acting techniques, Cain quickly identified with Lee Strasberg's Method as instructed by Tony Greco in Los Angeles, California.
Cain currently resides in Los Angeles with his beloved furbaby, Zoey, and is an active and dedicated canine advocate for the Ace of Heart foster-based animal rescue program.
