- Additional Crew
One of this generation's most exciting new talents, Bryn Vale is best known for her work in "Family" with costars Taylor Schilling, Brian Tyree Henry, Kate McKinnon, Matt Walsh, Allison Tolman, and Natasha Lyonne. Her performance received critical acclaim and recognition as one of the film's greatest "surprises" in a "rip roaring script" in her "fantastic performance" as Maddie. Critics highlighted that in this breakout performance, Bryn provided "emotional punch" delivering "poignant moments" as a "hilarious tortured soul of a misfit teen." With the comedic success of "Family," Bryn expanded her repertoire in a dramatic turn as Scout, a character with serious emotional challenges, in Max Amini's film, "James the Second." Her most recent film includes work as Katie in "Home," a film written and directed by Franka Potente of "The Bourne Identity," with co-stars Kathy Bates and Jake McLaughlin leading the acclaimed cast.
Bryn spent most of her youth growing up in Atlanta, Georgia before relocating to the West Coast. At age 9 she earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, winning numerous gold and silver medals in regional and national competitions. Her athletic talent led to "Barely Lethal," playing a debut role as a stealth child assassin trainee opposite Samuel L. Jackson. From that point she continued to steadily work in a variety of film, TV, and web series roles (e.g., "Red Band Society"). As Louise Suggs, the Ladies Pro Golf Association legend, her performance in "The Founders" humanized the significant "odds in 1940s America" encountered by these fearless, female athletes who created the LPGA, "the longest running women's sports organization in the world."
In addition to her love of sports, Bryn has a passion for learning and has enjoyed a successful undergraduate career at the University of California, Berkeley. She loves spending time with her 3 rescue dogs and her cat. She has also been a keen global animal rights advocate who also proudly supported the care and rehabilitation of orphaned baby elephants rescued in southern Kenya.
