Yu Gong is a Chinese entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of iQiyi, an online television and movie portal focused on high-definition content.
Gong graduated from Tsinghua University with a Ph.D. in Automation Control Theory and Application. In 1997, he founded EnReach Technology Inc. and served as its general manager.
In 1999, Gong founded China's first real estate portal, serving as president and CEO. In 2003, Gong joined Sohu and served as Vice President before being appointed Chief Operating Officer.
In 2009, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of UMessage, a telephone hotline service supported by China Mobile. In 2010, he joined iQiyi as Chief Operating Officer. In 2013, iQiyi merged with Shanghai-based PPS. As a result of the merger, Gong now serves as CEO of the company. In 2017, he was named one of the Top Ten Economic Figures of the Year.
