Sony Liv is back with yet another entertaining and endearing episode of Gullak season 4. Starring Jameel Khan, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Geetanjali Kulkarni, and Harsh Mayar, this season brought an underwhelming tone along with the five new episodes. However, it is the ending that left everyone surprised and perplexed.

Do not worry; we will not give you any spoilers for the show. But yes, we would still like to discuss the ending and explain what it could possibly mean. Interestingly, it was only the final episode that brought the original elements of the show back.

The final episode finally drops a transition of the show, moving from nostalgia to present age and striking a debate between adulting and parenting. However, as the debate intensifies with the younger son of the family doing the unthinkable, we see the parents questioning their mindset.

New film announcement! Noted actor Anupam Kher has a new film coming out, his 537th, yes 537th! Titled Vijay 69 and produced under the banner Yrf Entertainment, the film is a slice-of-life film for Ott.

Vijay 69 will narrate the life of a sexagenarian man, played by Anupam, who decides to compete in a triathlon contest at the age of 69! It will be directed by Akshay Roy, who has previously directed Meri Pyaari Bindu with Yrf. He has also worked on acclaimed films like Mira Nair’s The Namesake, Aamir Khan’s directorial debut Taare Zameen Par and Deepa Mehta’s Water as an Assistant Director.

Vijay 69 is being produced by Yrf’s homegrown Maneesh Sharma, who has previously directed Band Baaja Baarat and produced Dum Laga Ke Haisha & Sui Dhaaga: Made In India. He is currently directing Yrf Spy Universe’s next offering, Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif.

“Vijay 69” will tell the story of a man, played by Kher, who decides to compete in a triathlon contest at the age of 69. A gritty crime thriller titled Mandala Murders is the newest digital series from Yash Raj Entertainment! Created & directed by Gopi Puthran of Mardaani 2 fame, the edge-of-the-seat series will star Vaani Kapoor as the lead, along with Vaibhav Raj Gupta (of the hugely acclaimed show Gullak fame).

Vaani Kapoor, who won hearts for her brilliant and sensitive performance as a transgender girl in Abhishek Kapoor’s Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, is set to once again get fully into character in the show, which marks her foray into Ott. Things have somewhat changed in the Mishraji’s household. Elder son Annu (Vaibhav Raj Gupta) has unfortunately not been able to score at the Staff Selection Commission examination and Aman (Harsh Yar) is facing his board exams.

The rest is however the same in these five episodes of small little realistic slice of life gems.

Pati dev aka Husbandji Santosh (Jameel Khan) is the same honest clerk in the electricity department. Dharam Patni aka biwi matlab wife Shanti (Geetanjali Kulkarni) is making that chutney on that seel baata (grinding stone – for the English medium fellas).
