Jenna Rougeau
- Actress
Jenna Danielle Rougeau (known as the "pretty nerd" during high school) was born in Tarzana, California to Barry (head partner of a law firm) and Patti (a former CPA). Jenna is of English, Welsh, and French descent.
As a youth, Jenna had a love of dance and a strong fascination with psychology. Upon graduating high school, she went on to pursue a degree in Experimental Psychology at UCLA and at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford University. During her time at Oxford, Jenna balanced her studies with professional level dance training and competing in major dance events throughout England (in Ballroom and Latin style dance forms) winning multiple times.
Graduating a year early from college, Jenna returned back to the States from Oxford to her home of Los Angeles. While dating an aspiring actor, Jenna fell in love with acting herself and decided to pursue it as her career (against the wishes of her then actor boyfriend). Jenna studied intensively with acting teachers and private coaches, incorporating her advanced understanding of psychology and dance into her acting process.
"My dance background helps me get to the physical movement and rhythm of a character, and my psychology background helps me get to the truth of a character's thoughts, speech, and/or actions in a given situation." Pulling all these elements together is a meticulous and painstaking process in Jenna's preparation for roles. "A great dancer is possessed by the music, and a great actor is possessed by the spirit of a character."
Jenna admires the work of Julia Roberts, Rene Russo, and Jennifer Garner and loves their roles in projects such as "Pretty Woman", "The Thomas Crown Affair", and the TV show "Alias". "Garner, Roberts, and Russo are all beautiful actresses with serious acting chops; they are smart, sexy, savvy, and versatile. I have a high regard for their work and would love to bring my acting package and dancer's sensitivity to the type of film projects these women have blazed trails in."
The super talented fast-tracking Jenna, in less than 18 months, has booked multiple commercials as well as film & TV work (including a principal in a three-camera sitcom pilot), quickly becoming a SAG actress, garnering success and recognition from some of the top talent agencies in Los Angeles.
Jenna recently was featured in the film "BAD THINGS" a bank heist thriller in which she played opposite Brandon Quinn (The OC, Grimm, Entourage). The film starred elite TV and film actors such as: Jeryl Prescott (original cast member of The Walking Dead), Omar J. Dorsey (Ray Donovan, Django, The Blind Side, East Bound & Down) and Art Hsu (Crank: High Voltage, The FP and The Trost Brothers film - All Super Heroes Must Die).
Jenna recently wrapped the featured lead in: "Love and Skateboarding":, a romantic comedy, and is preparing for "REDD-LINED", a politically charged legal thriller loosely based on events surrounding the Baltimore urban uprising.
