Ludmilla was born and raised in Duque de Caxias, a city located in the Baixada Fluminense, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. She lived in several neighborhoods of her hometown. She is the eldest daughter of Silvana Sales Oliveira. Her father, who abandoned her at birth, and she was raised by her mother with the help of her grandmother, her former stepfather and her uncle, and stated that since her childhood she never had contact with her father again. DJ Tubarão teamed up with Ludmilla to release her first official single in Brazil, "Sem Noção". The singer's second studio album, A Danada Sou Eu, was expected to be released in May 2016.
