My Do(I)
- Actor
- Producer
- Writer
Born in the Philippines and of Vietnamese descent, My has a captivating personal history that influences his passion for acting and film. His journey began at a refugee camp in Morong, Bataan, Philippines, where he was born. At the age of one, his family immigrated to the United States, providing him with opportunities for a new life. As a young child, he primarily spoke
Vietnamese, but he rapidly learned English by immersing himself in television. It was during this time that he encountered a trailblazer in the form of Thuy Trang, an actor from the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. Inspired by her, he discovered the courage to pursue acting, although he only decided to take it seriously after completing high school. Motivated by the lack of Asian representation in the media during his formative years and the limited roles available to Asian actors, his primary objective is to increase the presence of Asian performers in the industry. He plans to achieve this by creating compelling roles through his screenwriting endeavors, aiming to accurately portray the diverse experiences of Asians on film, and to possibly even step behind the camera and direct one day.
