Working internationally, Angelica has appeared in Film, Television, Theatre and lent her voice and physicality to various other media. Aside from being an accomplished actor, she is an award-winning producer, local reporter, sought after presenter and host based out of Toronto Canada. As an actor and producer her work has been accredited and awarded within North America, while also receiving acclaim in Barcelona, India, Amsterdam, Nice and Cannes just to highlight a few. Having amassed an impressive body of work, her scripted work includes everything from onstage, independent films to working on major shows and films both in North America and overseas. Angelica is also a judge, panelist and speaker at many industry events and festivals. She is a member and past juror of the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. A prominent member of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) she has served as a past ACTRA Toronto Councillor and Vice-President as well as a ACTRA National Councillor. She is engaged in various initiatives for her fellow members with a focus on safety, education and has served for many years as a set liaison. Angelica is also an actor member of Equity in the UK and Canadian Actors Equity Association (CAEA). As an actor combatant she is a proud member of Fight Directors Canada, training in various physical disciplines.
Often times cast as the sidekick and best friend, Angelica has enjoyed different breakout roles. Possessing a unique ability to transform from sweet girl next door, intellectual, mother, medical professional, fashionista, and complex roles such as abused wife, hostage, agent and assassin; her projects are as diverse as her characters. Languages are an important component in her repertoire, she has been able to use this in various roles travelling overseas, performing in Tagalog, as well as teaching it to her cast mates for scenes. There is nothing that Angelica can't do - especially if the challenge involves doing her own stunts. From filming in jungles and rappelling down the side of a cliff, working with combat coaches to learn proper form and techniques, immersion in medical or legal journals, supporting endless research to honor the nuances and language of a character; each role is embraced with a desire to do what it takes to help create a memorable story. Her musical, dance, sports background and weapons work have been rounded out over the years with business acumen. Most recently she took her physical training to another level, successfully passing rigorous training to become a member of Fight Directors Canada.
Due to being quick on her feet, articulate and versatile, Angelica has been sought as a Festival Juror, Industry Panelist, Speaker and Live Read Actor. She has been especially grateful to have co-hosted various panels, events and Awards Galas. She has worked with many great creative professionals developing, producing and collaborating on original works, which have enjoyed viewings in many local festivals and opened the door to invitations to international festivals including going to the Cannes Film Festival twice. Holding many of these passion projects dear to her heart, she credits the amazing cast and crews that taught her so much and sharing the collaborative passion of indie filmmaking.
Passionate, poised and hardworking, Angelica stresses the importance of being active and staying engaged, in order to move with and more importantly to anticipate the next great moment in the evolving industry. She is an actor who believes in continued development and learning, her growing career appreciates the experiences she learns from producing great projects as an active member of her film community supporting her fellow filmmakers. A firm believer in giving back and "paying it forward", each incredible partnership and experience is enriching on both a professional and personal level.
